Overinflated Tires @ Purchase
I saw on the Courtesyparts website a list of "things to know about your Z car" upon delivery. It says to check your air pressure upon delivery. I neglected to do that until yesterday, and found all 4 of my tires 10 pounds over inflated; i.e., all were @ 42 psi COLD! I've put 4k miles on my car with the tires in that condition. Anyhow...would be a good idea for those of you picking up new rides to ensure the tire inflation is checked and accurate if you don't get the models with the TPM.

I had the same problem when I picked up my new Z. On the ride home from the dealer, I was upset about the harshness of the ride. When I got home, I checked the tire pressure and found that each tire was 7- 8 pounds overinflated. After adjusting the pressure down to the recommended 35 PSI, the ride was noticebly smoother. I let the dealer (and Nissan North America) know about this.
Kind of amazing isn't it that a dealer would allow a car, any car, to leave the lot with improper tire pressure. One would think this is part of a routine check-in procedure if it is in fact standard practice for the factory to overinflate for shipping. This is something I inteneded to check way before now, but you know how life gets in the way! Just glad I did when I did.

As for the pressures... I wouldn't worry about it. Maxing out around 50 will definately give you a harsh ride, but WILL give you a more precise ride... more air pressure traditional will be more responsive.
I typically drive around with 38-42 lbs cold.
Look forward to meeting you! We have a meeting this upcoming Thursday down at the shop! www.crawfordzcar.com
Hey there! thanks for the info and I'll keep that in mind...gives me a little less cause for concern. By the way, it looks like I will be able to make the meeting on Thursday. I was scheduled to go out of town, but the guy that was supposed to go in the first place can make it now, so I'm off the hook! I'm looking forward to meeting the group and participating in the cruise-in here in the 'boro Friday night...hopefully there will be enough interest in the roadster (grin).
Later,
Scott

We are all VERY excited to see the roadster.
While many of us are track purists and wouldn't consider a convertible. We won't dare deny they look DAMN GOOD... and hard to touch on a nice Autumns eve cruising around!!!
Until Thursday...

You got it...these days, that top stays in the well almost all the time. My 40 year-old back couldn't take the pounding of the performance models...I'm having a tough enough time adjusting to the roadster, if you can believe that.
See ya Thursday!
