where do you rank the z among past-owned cars?
just wondering what people's overall satisfaction is with the z relative to other cars they've owned. try to correct for the natural enthusiasm we have over newer vs older things.
btw, i don't have a z but i've had a 240sx and now wrx. it's sort of a wash, since i paid a lot more for the wrx.

At the top!
Learned how to drive on my father's '79 280z 4spd (i think it was 4spd). Was going to be mine but bottom rusted before I got my license
Supercharged T/A was my next car
Then back to the Zs. '86 z31.
Now, I enjoy my time with the latest one
BTW: my second favorite Z was the '83 280zx turbo silver 5spd. My brother had one. I LOVED that ****ing thing.

1. 1998 BMW M3
2. 2003 Nissan 350Z Touring
3. 1991 Acura Integra LS Special (2 Door)
The Z's built quality is just not up there, and performance is a tad better than my BMW.

Why the M over the Z?
1990 Acura Integra - no comparison
1995 Toyota Supra - supra felt more solid/stable but the Z feels more nimble/fun to drive
1999 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner - pothole? what pothole? curb? what curb?
2000 Acura 3.2TL - luxurious but weak/flexible chassis - no real fun factor

The Z ROCKS, but I can't relax in it. I always feel like I gotta be flying! Plus the poor visibility doesn't help.
The Highlander, esplly now that the bumper has a dent in it (which I did NOT do), is awesome for doing **** moves in freeway traffic. Nobody expects it, haha. Whereas in my Z everybody expects me to be a b*tch so I can't sneak up on people. Plus, although I drive faster in the Z, I do more aggressive weaving and going through yellow lights in the Highlander.

Hmmm. Ranking the Z. That's not easy since I bought it for different reasons than I did some other cars in the past....
I'd choose it over any of the cars I had right now, but I might not have back then.
I'd have to give a 3 way tie among the Z (for it's amazing handling and decent power out of the box), my 98 Camaro SS (for it's brute power and decent handling), and my 1980 Corvette (after the engine swap we did--that thing was just badass!)
My bimmer has got to be at the very bottom of my list--don't get me wrong, it would have been a nice car if I had it as a weekend car or something, but as a daily driver, an 840 ci is WAY too high maintenance.
And my trucks don't really count in this category because they're just for totally different things! lol Next purchase is another truck for a daily driver and to haul my car to the track.

Well let's see....first car was a Mercury Monterey. Followed by SEVEN Z's.
Yep.....I like the Z best!
I would have to say from strictly a "fun" factor, my 1972 240Z is at the top of the list, followed by my 350! The 240 was so new and SO TOTALLY different than anything else on the road, people didn't just gawk, they damn near fainted seeing it for the first time! For the year, it was fast and nimble....on par with any other sports car out there and a magnet for attention!!
