im the director's commentary the director says that the majority of the cars in that shot were local miami residents who brought their "rice rockets" for a chance to be in the film. I wonder if the Z was placed their intentionally or if it was just someone's? forum member?
I counted 4 Z's in the movie. Well, 2.75. The first is the drawing. The 2nd is the fender shot with the NISMO logo. The 3rd is a black Z that rolls out in the mob scene, the 4th is the silver that's on screen the longest.
This observation has been brought to you by Mitsubishi. The finest 2 hour commercial money can buy!
Isn't it funny how in the picture with the silver and the mitu's that the z looks so much better. As for that dragon decal it puts a bad taste in my mouth. Especially since they put it on a Day blue
I just noticed this on the dvd today in the big scramble scene. I wonder how many other people cought it?
Noticed the movie was playing a little while ago and I told my hubby “leave it on so I can see my car!” I haven’t seen this in years!! Anyway it was taking too long to get to the scene so I googled it and found this old forum!
can’t believe you guys picked up on it! I was the only Z shooting on site that day… I had literally gotten it 3 weeks prior.
Supposedly the director or stunt coordinator figured my car would have the cleanest piping and undercarriage so it got picked to be driven up front for the scene.
I’ll never forget that day! Can’t believe I found this chat! Hope you all loved it!! Had to represent all the Z lovers back then! So glad I did!
