Default Bring the Z back

Hello to everyone out there.

Ok here is my introduction, I own a 2004.5 Z and have since the day it rolled off the truck here in Alexandria VA back wow it’s been over 5 years now. It is the Performance Model but over time I upgraded the interior and added everything else to it that the top of the line Z came with.

The Z was not my DD just because I don’t really need a DD so it split time with Jeep but the Z was quickly becoming the favorite for heading out of town and being seen. Then it happened!

On my way home not paying too much attention (which I should have been on a rainy night) the rear end of the car started to slip and with probably too much gas I spun the Z out crushing the front end. Man let me tell you for only going 30-40 MPH I did so damage!

That is how I came up with my screen name “Re-Born Z” as my planes for the car have not stopped. Just like my Jeep (a 1991 Wrangler YJ that I have built from the ground up and for a slow vehicle is great and I enjoy it every warm day) now it is time to bring the Z back.

Now I know what some of you may say another kid that mommy and daddy gave to much car too but that is not the case (I wish that would happen) as I see it is talked about a lot on here. As a side note if your mom and dad are looking to give way cars you can put a good word in for me right? Ha Ha

I know that it would be cheaper to go buy another Z but that is not the point, the point is to now really make this my Z! I plan on rebuilding the Z from the front end back and hopefully learn something new and have some fun in the process and have that great feeling when it is all complete of being able to sit back and say yeah I was a dumb *** and messed up a nice car but I just built an even nicer one!

I would like to thank you now in advance because I know I will be coming back asking for advice, pointers and how do I do this to complete the task ahead of me. I will also take pic’s and document the progress and work completed and share with you all as I know I have enjoyed watching what you all have created.

Ok now time to state what I’m starting with. Well Just before the accident I purchased the NISMO V1 bumper that is still sitting in the back down stairs and all new audio components but that stuff is not important now. The rear of the car is still perfect so I’m only dealing with the front end. From what I can tell so far I will need to replace the following:
• Entire front suspension (drive side took the hit but no point just rebuilding half the car)
• Front chassis
• Headlights
• Bumper reinforcement
• Fenders
• Hood
• Radiator (and parts that go along with it ie mounts, fan shroud, hoses)
• All bracing
• Splash shields
• Windshield (broke for objects in the car flying up and hitting it)
• Airbags and everything associated with them

That’s a good starting point! After the front is complete I will start working my way back and continue my build.

Should be fun at least I have a new hobby to mess around with and put my own spin on, I guess the Jeep will be glad that I’m not poking at it all the time now Ha!

I will post the pic’s of the car as it is now once I find which folder I put them in.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you all!
