Default Wrecked the Z...

Well I love my car. Who doesn't love their 350z. Just hurts having to see her like this.

Hydroplaned on I-95 going towards Jacksonville in some wicked weather. Hit guard rail doing 60. Side air bags deployed, walked away with a hurt wrist thank god. No one else was involved but me. I have a feeling they are going to wirte off the car and get totaled but I have a question for some of you...

If they were to write it off as totaled, i can take all my aftermarket parts or whatever I want off the car correct? if im wrong someone please explain this to me thanks.

here are some pics... enjoy

I see front bumper, headlight, fender, hood, door, sideskirt, rear quarter, taillight, rear bumper, front wheel is done... The front looks pretty bad, did it push anything over in the engine bay? Was it still running fine?

That's a lot of work for an 03.. especially when dealing with the quarter panel I hear it's really labor intensive with the welding and such. How many miles? Also depends on how hard the front hit whether it knocked anything or bent anything... I say your looking at 4-5k in body parts alone before paint, if you are getting them replaced that is, which I would demand. Idk, good luck and let us know how it goes...

Good luck with grabbing your parts... I would suggest doing it ASAP, where did you take the car? Grab your exhaust and **** and head over to the garage and start replacing before the insurance takes a look at it. That is if the garage will let you, sometimes the ins. co won't let you touch it, replace your radio and that kind of easy stuff too if you got one.

Overall all of the above needs to be replaced if they decide to. Engine runs fine but as far as taking my parts, i was going to take exhaust, intake, plenum spacer, and test pipes off before they look at the car. Agreed?

sorry to hear. you can take your parts usually as long as the car runs and rolls, it varies place to place ... do it sooner rather then later though..

I used to have a rsx-s and totalled it.. I took all the floor mats, (rubber and cloth), my intake, wheels, and exhaust.. Put all the stock stuff back on the car at the junkyard.

sucks man. The weather has been really nasty up here the last 2 weeks in the mid/late afternoon.

Edit- Also let me know if you need a stock exhaust.

Edit 2- Or OEM radio or intake.

Its not a personal admonishment. Just an observation. I estimate that 90 percent of 350Z accidents occur within the first 12 months of ownership.

I've wrecked a few cars, unfortunately. I've always gotten all the parts and/or bought the car back for little money - typically about $1k, and had my way with it as a salvage vehicle.
