for those who took over a preorder
Check the nissan web site daily. I live in LA near NNA and yesterday at lunch decided to go check out gardena nissan. Well, they had a white one in, the night before the web site said they had a silver, so i thought what the hell, i'll check my dealer. Whatya know, they had 5 Z's in, one had the same configuration as mine. So i called with my order number that i got when i took over it in June. It was my Z, unfortunately it wasn't a track that the sales guy thought, it was a touring, loaded with everything. So the dealership says we don't have anything to prove that you ordered the Z, i said thats my order number and faxed my receipt for down. They were great about it after that, prepped it and it was all ready for pick up today. MSRP, they threw in the rear trunk mat, but it came with everything else. Unfortunately they already screwed in the front license bracket which goes right through the plastic with 2 screws and they have 2 long screws that holds the license plate frame so that puts 2 more round scratches on the top of the bumper, so i decided to leave it. But since i picked it up, I've been driving it since. I was afraid that the z would be hard to drive, man was i wrong, the shifter is so nice and short, the clutch so smooth, i have to get used to it. I know i'm not doing a good job keeping under 2700 what the dealership left the rev warning light to light up on to. The nav is sort of loud, i gotta set that thing correctly in the next few days. Anyways, what i wanted to say is that, there were 2 guys sitting in my car, they offered 4000 over msrp and one 6000 to buy it, luckily i called that day the car was listed on the nissandriven site or it would have been sold. Anyways, good luck to all that took over a preorder!
