After having dodged a moronic dumptrucks load at 60 MPH on the road today, I would like to have a law passed that would allow us to shoot them in the head and bury them in the desert when they just drop gravel all over the road. I'm only half kidding.

Which half? shoot them in the head or bury them in the desert?

I would think the shooting them in the head part. wouldn't be to hard to bury them in the desert.

Man, what a bummer.

In your next Z, try to keep the VDC on (if you have it) even in the dry for just this type of occasion. It can't always save you, but might make just enough of a difference to help save the car.

I'm glad you liked the first Z enough to be getting another one.

As far as colors go, I like the Silverstone and Daytona Blue (they're no Brickyard, but they're still OK ).

Good luck with the recovery.

It is possible to negotiate waiver of salvage. I had a drunk driver smash my old Supra. I wasn't satisfied with the settlement proposal. So, I negotiated waiver of salvage title. I still have the car after being paid off.

Try negotiating salvage to part out the pieces. And, if you're successful, please make me an offer I can't refuse on your seats.

do u mean that you recieved the full msrp value of your wrecked car, and were allowed to keep the vehicle? if so, how is this possible?

Exactly. I explained to the adjustor that with all the modifications on my car, ie: $1,500 audio equipment, new AC, new radiator, new transmission etc., that the blue book value of the car had to be adjusted upwards to include the cost of all my upgrades.

The adjustor said, the best she could do would be to pay me full blue book value and waive salvage to the car. Therefore, I got full value plus kept the car.

Try it. If it works, get your new car, part out your wrecked car, and give me an amazingly awesome deal on your leather seats.

sounds like i might have to try that out. oh yea, did the insurance drop you cause of it, or were you able to maintain the same insurance you had before the settlement/salvage waiver?

No, I had his insurance pay for it. My insurance was never involved. Be prepared to submit receipts to prove up your upgrades.
