Death of a Z Car
well as i posted yesterday, i totalled my cs touring on friday night. i was travelling down a seemingly deserted two lane back road at about 1:00 am. as i approached a sharp blind left turn an suv without its lights on started to pull out of a driveway on the inside of the turn. it half-way pulled out and then stopped as i swerved to miss it i started to drift and as i counter-steered into the turn i hit a patch of gravel that some dumb @ss construction site had spilled into the road. well to say the least i lost control completely and clipped a small embankment and it spun me back the the right. as i was spinning to the right i smacked a huge oak tree on the passenger side at about 45-55 mph. im thankful to walk away with just a broken collar bone, but i have the z and god to thank for that (saving my @ss, not the broken collar bone). the car is obviously totalled, but i hope to replace it with the exact same model (but maybe a different color). thanks for all of your concern and be careful with your babies, at least more careful than i was.
damn im glad your ok!!!!
Can you sue the construction company? did you get the SUV's info??
Get alot of rest too....
Can you take anything out of the car to sell / keep... like pedels.. seats.. emblums??
i know when my car got messed up i took the door handle and things like that...
that looks nasty ..

Very glad to hear your ok. Must have been one hell of a ride. Every time I hear a story like this, it really makes me think I need to be more careful. Don't get me wrong, I do pay attention to the raod and surroundings. But there are times I take things for granted and I shouldn't because anything can happen. Especially when you least expect it.
Again, glad to hear you're ok. Now run out there and place that order on the convertible.
Cheers. -m

i would get a new roadster but they are more than the insurance company will give me. plus, i dont like how the top looks when up and its almost winter. i havent really decided what color i wanna go with but i'm sure that you all have plenty of suggestions. and about the traction control; i always turn the tcs of when its not raining, and i dont think it wouldve helped anyway. and heres a final close-up pic of the front end damage.
Im really really sorry to hear that man. I know how it feels to total your baby. Did it a few years ago when I was still a teenager. Yea, seen too many dumb a$$ construction companies spill crap all over the road. It definitely is a hazard.
Keep ya head up. If you need anything just say so bro

lol, the engine still looks good. not crumbled up yet. well anyway, that sux man, good thing that you didnt kill yourself. anyhow, whose fault was it really? the SUV? it's gotta be!!! and if it is, is that person going to replace the whole new car for you? their insurance of course. and wow!!! it's almost a yr for its birthday, but then...
lol! a car pulling out suddenly in the middle of the street(dramatized) w/o any lights on, there are no way you could've paid attention to that. too spontaneous. the least you/he could've done is to swerve.

That last picture shows that the Z emblem on the quarter panel was ripped off. That's simply unacceptable!
Seriously, glad you made it out ok (relatively speaking). I broke my clavicle as well a few years back, and although I was miserable the first few weeks it healed pretty quickly. Just be sure to follow the doctor's instructions! I was a little lax on what the doc said, and the bone ended up healing improperly, so they had to "reseat" it, etc.; painful, to say the least.
Good luck man!!

whoa this reminds me of an accident I was in when I had my civic. This ******* in an suv was on the right of me and we both just came out of an exit. I just finish a night shift so I was kinda flooring it a bit (only 50 out of the exit) I'm not sure if he thought I was trying to speed pass him or if he was just drunk. but about 1/2 mile or so there was this idiot who's car had died just sitting in the right lane. This was a 3 lane parkway and I was in the middle and the suv was to my right. So the idiot in the SUV decide to turn into my lane to avoid rearend the dead car WHILE I WAS STILL THERE. Need less to say I tried to floor it to avoid it, but no good. The suv clip the dead car on the left rear and ram into my right rear quarter. My car just went sideway while this @$$ keep going pushing me further out. when I regain control, I was facing the other direction, against traffic (lucky it was 4 in the morning and no cars) As soon as I regain composure I look up and guess what, the SUV was making a beeline back to an exit. I was like, hell no ****. I began to chase him, at the same time trying to steer it (the front wheel were bent out of place). Man by the time I make it to the exit the @$$ was long gone. I called the cops and so did the guy in the dead car. That idiot was arrested for being drunk and the freakin SUV got off.
Lucky It was mostly body damage, so got it fixed. Man, seeing your Z, I just have to cringe. If I just saw that I wouldn't have guess the driver would've walked away from it. guess those safety crash test were right on par
