I ordered a 2004 touring model on August 1. Yesterday they called with a vin#. The last 6 digits are 152887. I ordered the car with side airbags. I read on this forum a while back that the 6th # from the right indicated side air bags. Someone wrote that if their is a 1=no side airbags and 0=side airbags. I called the dealership and they said it's fine and the car was ordered correctly....what is the deal here?

 

Sounds like you might have a problem. The number after the T is supposed to be zero for side bags.

 

Yes.. The first digit after the T indicates side air bags or not.. a "0" should mean the car comes with the side air bags, a "1" means it's not coming with side air bags.. I would double check that the order is correct and that the dealer copied the number correct..
