Default OMG Worst cop popo... encounter EVER 4 me~~

Sorry this is seriously a long story but I had to post it, to help me lose some anger... I am still rather upset I went down to the police station and filed an official complaint below is the letter I wrote didnt want to re-write it but seriously... Have any of you ever run into this and WTF??? And is there anything else I can do other than file a complaint?

I will attempt to summarize the events of which I feel Officer Aaron _____ conducted misconduct and slight harassment. This is over a 25 plus minute time frame so unfortunately it runs slightly longer than desired.

On October 8’th 2003, I was heading along highway 34 towards a doctors appointment at Willamette Surgical As. Near the Corvallis hospital. People were driving around 40 mph in the fast lane!! I politely flashed my high beams once at every driver I got stuck behind not going the speed limit. Apparently this upset someone and they called into the police station reporting a reckless driver.

Upon crossing over onto Harrison, an officer pulled behind me. I thought nothing of it, until he followed me through several yellow lights. After (in my opinion) he saw me commit no moving violations he pulled me over.

Proceeding to the conversation; I asked what I had done wrong. He then told me about a phone call from the road and a sticker obstructing view behind my car? I politely told him I never went over the speed limit (as witnessed by him following me so long) nor was I driving recklessly. He requested where I was going. I then explained to him I was heading to the hospital to see Dr. Nakamoto to have some skin removed on my left leg of which a report came back positive for melanoma skin cancer.
(This appointment had taken me awhile to get being I had the original work done in California before the full report came back and having to head back up to school before I could get more removed. Therefore obviously I was anxious to have it taken care of. No one wants cancer sitting on their leg).
I then asked him what I was getting a ticket for or if I could proceed to the hospital, and what is this thing about a sticker on the back of my car?? He told me that my registration sticker is not visible enough, apparently my FACTORY license plate holder covers up a corner of my sticker. I then asked if he could provide me directions to the hospital because the directions I had received from OSU Student Health center were from my apartment. The officer RUDLY REFUSED to give me directions to THE HOSPITOL, saying ‘I don’t believe you… no I am only going to follow you to the hospital.’

Okay, now how many areas is this wrong in?? First off he is accusing me of lying about a trip to the hospital and second off HE IS REFUSING ME DIRRECTIONS TO THE HOSPITOL for NO REASON. So I had to go out of my way, to my apartment then from there to the hospital making me even later. Now, I committed no speeding violations or traffic violations as seen on my ticket. If I had I assure you they would be there. Being I am sited for ‘Illegal Alteration or Display of plates’ a 237$ fine??? This appears a bit harsh and un-correct for a simple mistake such as that. He, also, gave me a ticket for no front license plate, of which I was just up in Portland (where I was coming back from) having a clearBRA removed from my car, of which I had to take my license plate off and being the appointment took longer than I expected I did not have time to put it back on( I have time stamped receipts). A simple small error, of which I know is in violation but it was unintentional and due to my hurry of getting to a doctors appointment for minor SURGURY AT THE HOSPITOL. Now topping this off even farther the officer followed me to the hospital and then to the check in room.. I at first went into the wrong building and he proceeded to follow me into the next building AND ALL THE WAY down to the next check in room. THIS IS UNCALLED FOR. Now to top it off even more he said he would give me my ticket tomorrow instead of right now, of which he drove by my house this morning and was rather rude, when he walked away he laughed to the partner with him loudly.

NOW please explain to me how this is not a total power trip and miss-conduct in so many ways. I, also, would like to understand what happened ‘to serve and protect’ when an officer REFUSES TO GIVE someone DIRRECTIONS TO THE HOSPITAL, making them late to an operation. I am also unsure of this ticket for 257$ on ‘illegal alteration’ of plates? I simply have the sticker in the correct location on my plate, and on top of it is the factory plate holders. I believe the officer simply wrote me up for the only possible ticket he could. I have no idea why he has such issues or feels the need to harass people and make them late to doctors’ appointments. I have never been so upset before in my life at an individual, I haven’t even heard of this kind of conduct from cops in 3rd world country’s this is ridiculous. You don’t even see this type of stuff on Saturday night live it seems so ludicrous. I wouldn’t even do this to my worst enemy, where is this officers conscious? Shouldn’t he be out preventing all these car thefts?? Etc.. apparently he has way to much free time if he can follow someone to the hospital and personally deliver a ticket the next day.

From the way you are telling it, the cop was definitely out of line following you around like that. As far as delivering you the ticket in person...that seems really weird to me. It would be one thing to get it in the mail, but the cop delivering to you in person? Very wacky....What "factory" license plate holder is on your rear plate? Are you referring to the one the dealer put on for advertising? If so, I bet you can get out of that one by blaming it on the dealership. Good luck with this nightmare bro. The cop was prob just some hating young kid that wished he had a 350Z...

Hmmm, that's sounds like racial harassment, don't you think? What nationality are you, if it's not too much to ask?

My only question....

Why, when the officer came to your house, did you even open the door?

Anyway, sounds WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY out of line. Screw making a complaint to the police department. Call your local television station do-gooder or expose specialist to do a peice on him in the media. This guy way oversteped his bounds. I really despise officers like this, because they give the good cops like my stepmother, the bad reputation that many have for the police.

Dude, that sucks, get a lawyer. I hate to say it, but I think you need legal help in this matter. It will well be worth the few hundred bucks for someone to clean this up for you. It is not worth the hassle and the stress trying to fight and deal with it yourself...

I despise cops like that. I know there are some police officers who truly believe in what they do and do it for the good of their fellow man, but the majority of cops I have known are total control freaks.

I often picture the recent video of that gutless cop who blew off the family dog's head because he "felt threatened" by a puppy, and my opinion of most cops is validated even more. I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone, buy many of them are pathetic, poor excuses for human beings. Many psychlogists put cops in the terms of having a degree of the "C" factor...in other words, they MUST be in control....that's why many of them become cops in the first place.

The only reason I would be considering becoming a cop would be to do high speed chases

Sounds like a fellow motorist turned you in to the" popo"( maybe they should sue them first..right JPizzle). Sounds like you caught an attitude with the "popo". Sounds like you had violations..no matter how slight, and Mr. "popo" decided he was not going to give you a break. Mr. "popo" can do that...remember that people. Dont bother to sue because you have no case ...but if you think Mr. "popo" was rude to you you can let his Dept. know.

Oh ZZtopp...tell me where you found that psych info on cops...oh whats that ZZ you just made it up because you were mad that you got a busted for doing 130 mph in a 30 mph zone and you almost ran over that 2 year old.. Oh sorry ZZ that was durobred..my bad.

Hey..somebody has to stand up for those brave men and women who do much more than issue parkers and movers. Thats what I think of when I think about cops.

I never told him who he could sue . He could actually sue his dealership because it was their fault on both accounts (the front license plate and the "alteration"). I don't know why you automatically inferred that I was referring to the police...

In a simple and classic N.W.A. fashion....

"F*ck tha police!"

I personally don't have any problems with law enforcement but it's people like him that pisses off some mentally unstable californian living in L.A.....next thing you know....a good officer has to lose his life because someone went down in a rage of passion. All these "bad cop" stories just fuel that reputation. This kinda stuff is played out on the news all the time.

No one needs to stand up for cops, let their actions stand on their own.

I'm sure most cops are good people, but as leaders they should be setting an example with their actions. When one sets an example like this, it makes all officers suspect, the same as when one driver pulls a gun on an officer, it makes all drivers suspect.

If the story is true as told here, that officer should be punished for basically undermining the efforts of all the good cops out there.

Personally, I trust the cops as far as I think they would trust me.

No....I didn't make it up....either 60 MINUTES or 48 HOURS did a show on cop psychology a few years back. I'm sure you missed it....COPS was probably on another network.

You're right.... that wasn't me who got busted for doing 130 in a 30 mph zone. I was the guy who had one of the first 350Z's in Vegas, and some bored, fat-*** motorcycle cop stopped me for doing 38 in a 35 zone...just so he could ask me about the car. After he proceeded to write the ticket, he said (like he was my best buddy) "So...what do you think of this thing? It's the first one I've seen." My response: "Listen, I'm not here to have f**king conversation with you. Just write the damn ticket." He handed it to me, I signed it, and he never said another word. He just plopped his huge butt back on his motorcylce and wizzed off, a true champion of law and order.

The disgusted judge dismissed the ticket, by the way.

Whatever, take this issue to the highest level you have to. I have all of the respect in the world for the honest cops who do thier duty. That includes to protect and to serve. It seems that ever since 9/11 copes have just gotten out of hand with thier abuse of authority just because they happen to be the darlings of the media. They need to check themselves, and if that's not a viable option, then they need to be checked by the people they are hired to serve. Maybe I'm a little bitter because when my sister got kidnapped a few years back, no cop or anybody else found her. And for all of you that revere cops because they 'risk thier lives everyday' get a clue, thats what they are hired and paid for. They chose this line of work. People don't look up to garbage men for their 'bravery' in the face of stench and they shouldnt, because they chose to be garbage men. If you don't want a life threatening job then don't get one. But if it's the only halfway respectable job you could get with your highschool equivilency and associates in criminal justice, then too bad for you, don't take out your over testesterone fueled, want of some semblance of power, ego trip aggressions on me. Go find the kid who stole my bike, find the guy who keyed my last car, and please find my sister.

Of course everyone keep in mind there's always another side to this story than what we hear.
