Get Tokico Blue shocks if you want OEM replacement shock, they are the perfect fit, form and function.
Sway bars fit fine, I just put them in and I have the Gemini. I had to beat my right pipe in a little bit, but another member thinks I had the 2 pipes backwards. IDK and don't really care as my Z sees more track time then road time now. The sways definitely make the car more predictable imo. I like them. But they showed me that i Absolutely need to find a spring/shock set

I've really enjoyed my Bilstein/Swift combo, car always felt planted and the drop was just perfect for my old set-up. I'm upgrading in a little bit though so look up the Bilstein shock and Swift spring thread and hit me up if you're interested.

I may very well be interested for the right price. My factory stuff I think is wore out, and I have no idea what direction I'll be going with for the track. So a used set is a good compromise for me at the moment

I highly recommend some derivative of a Bilstein set up (Bilstein ProKit or Sport, Swift, Tanabe, take your pick) for street - better street ride and more than sufficient damping but....

If you're doing more track work and you don't want to go coilover, recommend Koni Sport dampers. Both run in the $800-1000 range but Koni offers the adjustability for tires and track configuration at slight expense of ride comfort.

Paired up with a good set of springs and alignment adjusters and you're set for under $1500 or thereabouts (plus alignment and tires of course).

EDIT: Or check out the used Nismo spring/shock set that just came up in MP. (No, not mine, just approved.)

Hey Mic,

You recommend the nismo setup for me for now? Until I figure out the direction I go. (as I know you've been reading my track thread)

Well, my praises of the Nismo suspension is legendary (in my own mind of course, no one else cares or needs to... laff ). The spring/shock matching is flawless for a street suspension. Ride is good, jounce/rebound control excellent for just about anything you can throw at it.

My Nismo, out of the box, handled just as well as my '03 on full aftermarket gear and I attribute this to the only real deviation from status quo suspension.... the shock/spring combination since the bars are the same as standard Z. (Alignment not withstanding.)

Even if one is NOT on a budget and unless one is looking more for lowered aesthetics I still recommend 'em to anyone interested in suspension that works.

Also like the Nissan S-Tune "aftermarket" setup.

Did you run the passenger-rear section over or under the sway bar? I believe it's truly intended to be routed "over" but, by some coincidence it fits inverted.

My combo of Tokico blue shocks and Tein S-tech springs works well. The most demanding and technical track in my region is Sebring and they prove to control heave very well, I am only lacking a bit of roll-control. Sections like turn 11 tend to give me a large amount of uncomfortable roll. I'm glad to hear these bars will fit well.

Took my Z out for the first time of my ownership and beat on it. Launched great. The new jwt clutch and flywheel really rev. Caught a few second gear chirps.
The handling was pretty damn good. Once I put better springs and upgrade my sway bars this thing will pull G force on that ***!!

I gotta say..... now I know what I've been missing. Tonight completely validated my decision to own a Z. As the night went on I could feel the motor getting stronger. Maybe it was just me but it felt like it wanted to haul ***!! I love the position of the tachometer. Built in adjustable shift light. Damn!!! So much fun to drive.

So you put a new clutch and instead of breaking it in softly like you should you beat it and launch it

I put 500 miles for break in and another 300 since then before I got on it.
