What have you done for your Z today?

Had to turn on the No Fault insurance for a week or two in order to renew my plates her in MI (the Z has been on storage mode), so I decided to drive it in to work and get the oil changed at a local dealer (I'll let them tell me everything they think needs to be done, and then I'll have another checklist of items to tackle). These are the first highway miles for it since I bought it last Spring - I have other projects around the house that I promised to complete before I could really dig into the Z, but since the insurance had to be turned on anyway, I got a chance to play Topped off the tank, too - $2.099 this morning for premium at the Costco near my office

Finished the upper plenum, the surfaces are now smooth and the tb flange to neck connection is now a smooth transition, rather than a.25'' drop off. I also sanded through the neck, so that was welded up so I had to make it smooth again. Lower plenum is back from the welder, I smoothed the top of the runners with 180. The piping is done for the intake, fitment wise. That is off to be welded on Monday. The plenum is ready for paint!

Here's a picture from when I drove it to the office (first time drive on the highway) last week.
I also installed a new driver's outer door handle assembly and reinstalled the inner door panel. I had to remove the mid/woofer speaker on the door in order to get a couple of the broken pieces from the old handle out of the door (used a magnet extension tool through the speaker opening to sweep for the metal bits). Based on the highway driving, replacing one or more wheel bearings is in my future. And while I had it out I had the local dealer perform an oil change and their complementary inspection - they recommend a coolant and brake fluid flush, which is on my to-do list before I really put the Z back on the road for the summer.

switched out LED turn signals and reverse lights. Also fixed the hyper flashing issue with a resistor. Here's a video showing the easy install and the comparison with the OEM bulbs

NOAH all weather car cover came in (ordered from TheZstore) and threw it on. Ordered the cable lock also and the cover fits perfectly. No pics of it but got my winter car lifted and upgraded to BFG KO2s. spacers coming in soon!

Great cover. I have 2 for covering my 240 and 350Z. After the first heavy snow this season I can say that it protects very well.
I had been using a lighter weight superweave cover but it definitely doesn't offer the extreme weather protection of the NOAH.

Engine bay got pressured washed. Looks like a new new car again.
It was scary but it did good and turned over no problem. Next to do is coolant flush... since I have none in the coolant tank. yikes

They are perfectly fine for a daily driver for some fun, spirited back road driving. On the track where they are on at a consistently higher temperature, they show their weakness. They tend to loosen their bleed screws as they heat cycle. This happened to a friend on his 370z oem equipped Bonos. I think he runs Motul 5.1. I run Motul 600 RBF and havent run into the issue yet but, it’s something Im watching for.
Another issue on the 350z retrofit of the Bonos is the bracket. The bracket doesn’t place the caliper inside the diameter of the rotor. As the pad wears, you’ll end up with a lip on the pads. What I’ve seen is once the rotor gets warm, the pads cause tremendous vibration in the brakes during “braking” points. I suppose this could be avoided by swapping pads prematurely, or redressing the pads often but, regardless... its a pain the the @ss.
Knowing this, I probably would have gone with the Brembos or another BBK.

I've been wanting to clean the engines on my cars for some time - just don't have the free time to allot to it, yet. But, when the time comes, I've thought about using a handheld steamer instead of a pressure washer to reduce the risk of fouling the electrical connections with a high pressure water stream.

Started to add the Akebono's.....not enough clearance on the front RPF1 9.5 +15 fronts in my opinion. They don't rub but dam that's a little to close.....does anything in the brake system shift, settle or move enough that I should be concerned?
So close :/

I have the same wheel and brake set up. It sucks to do, especially since yours are red. But I grinded down the edges of each caliper and its been fine. I track it and have no issues. Small rocks/gravel get caught in there once in awhile and sounds terrible but they fly out shortly after. I was in the same boat as you. Everyone said they would fit no problem.
