My college roomate had F * * K T E X A S keyed on his hood. Funny thing, his car was the only car in the lot at the time with plates that were from a state other than TX!

great but..
What's the solution??? If scratch covers don't do it.. should it be buffed? Or should it be repainted? If I need to repaint, how much would you guess a good paint shop would charge to paint her canary yellow? I'm being serious..

Yep, My wife drove our 7 day old 350Z Roadster to her work at a medical building in Mission Vly, San Diego. The car was keyed all down the side. Turns out, it was some crazy woman going to her anger management classes(guess they're not working). She would only key black cars. Weird.
Insurance payed for it, minus the deductible. Generally, it will have to be repainted. My ins company does not increase rates for a Comprehensive type claim(i.e. keying), they increase rates for a Collision claim that is your fault.
Security cams caught our crazy lady on tape, so the prosecutor is pressing charges on her. We'll see how it goes.
