thanks for the sympathies...
and the messed up thing is that I didnt take up two spots..i didnt flcik anybody off...I usually mind my own when I go out.

I jus think that being at the IRvine spectrum brings some "haters" that have nothing else better to do than mess with peoples cars..

i dunno..any other advice on getting this scratch out?

Whenever I see a Z on the road, I try to pull up and wave to them but they kind of just look at me like I'm crazy and try to get away

I'm still impressed that I have not herd one bad comment about me being so young and owning a Z.

Sorry to hear your car got keyed. My old accord got keyed and even that killed me. I could not even imagine how I would feel or what I would do if my Z got keyed.

Man, why do people key nice cars? I just don't get what they get out of damaging someone else's property? Do they get off on it? US really needs to adopt Singapore's policy when it comes to vandalism.

What Is up with that?? I know insurance covers it. But don't these kids realize what most of us sacrifice to have a new Z? I would like to invent a new alarm that goes off if someone touches the car. It would work like one of those touch lamps. If it detects someone touching the car at all , it sets off a lightning bolt in their direction or at least takes a photo then says in a Viper computer voice that "you have been photographed for prosecution". Yeah we can TRACK our cars if they are stolen. What about vandals??? What about the neighbors cat that likes to jump on the hood everynight? We need photographic proof of that. With digital cameras, isn't this possible and cheap to do? Damn. I guess those rich guys with 10 modded track Z's never think of making a mod that involves a digital 360 degree camera mounted under the rear view mirror. It's better to come up with an intake that offers 1 extra rwhp for the value price of $599. That is what sells.

I live in Irvine as well and have parked my car at the Spectrum numerous times. Your story makes me cringe.

I hate to hear ANY story about Z's getting "defiled"!!! AARGH What a shame some a**hole is so miserable in his own life that he has to go and f*** with someone elses car. WTF??? I live in Pittsburgh, and it's a shame that whenever my husband and I are going out the first question is "are we taking the Z or the truck?". Most times we take the truck b/c I am so friggin paranoid that something similar will happen to my Z.....it's a sad state of affairs when you can't go out to a nice dinner, in a nice car, we have to pull up in the HD duramax Diesel....

Now, about the security modding--I hear that there is a viper alarm system that pages you when someone gets close to or touches your car. Is this true?

Also, here's an idea: I saw on discovery or something, a prototype that the govn't is working on for military SUV's. It includes 360degree cameras, electrified door handles that will deliver a whopper of a shock, and 4 different "pepper gas" nozzles that will spray upon command. Also throws out oil slicks, and road tacks. Now, modify some of those for our Z's and we're in business!!! LOL

I had my car keyed on campus once (UCSD). It went from the rear fender, to the doors, and all the way to the front fender. There was no way to get that sucker out. I cried. =(

How deep are the scratches? Is it down to the metal? If you can feel it dip in with your nail, you might have to take it to a bodyshop and get it repainted. They could try and sand that down and buff it.

Sorry about your car. =(

Default OK...

Ok..so I tried a little light wet sanding, and some perfect it rubbing compound, followed by tons of meguire's polish.

I would say that I got out a good amount of it, but the middle part was just too deep...its about a 6-8 inch gash that kills me...

so I took it to the body shop...300$ for a fender repaint.

%*$&%)$*&%) Irvine Spectrum punks!!!!

anyhow...the dude hooked me up with a free rental from enterprise, and said he'll have it in 48 hrs.

hopefully it'll match and look good...

crossing my fingers and driving an enterprise special..

DODGE neon until then!

I just found a 12-14 in scratch on my driver's side door. I tried Scratch X, didn't work, tried covering it up a lil with wax, helped a lil.

But now my car's at the dealer and they're gonna try to buff it out for free.

Deep Key scratches wont come out. if the scratch isnt too deep you may be able to compound out but for the most part it will never be the same. your gonna have to live with it.
Damn jealous Bastards.
