possible solution
my past three cars were bmws and I had made a "clutch stop" it is bascially a bolt with a rubber cap. when the clutch pedal is pressed it hits the end of the bolt. thus I could loosen or tighten the bolt to adjust the amount of pedal travel.
I am sure you all realize that the clutch completely disengages before the pedal is completely pressed down. thus we have about 1-2 inches of free travel.
I just need to find out where I can install the clutch stop for the z I will probably use a U shaped braket that is installed at the base of the pedal or even attached to the pedal (made of aluminum)
Or just if your real desperate I have seen "ricers" put a brick at the base of their clutch pedal...no thanks..

I did this just this last weekend. There is a thread in the Repairing forum all about it.
It really DOES make a world of difference. I probabally adjusted my pedal down about 2 inches (less travel) ... and as someone in the thread said, its like a "short shifter" for your clutch pedal.
Try it... but make sure not to go too far down ... and when you test drive it after the adjustment, bring your flashlight and 12mm wrench with you, incase you need readjustment. Don't wanna burn up that clutch!
Oh also, you don't need to remove the Clevis and twist it... just loosen the locknut, and twist the pushrod with your fingers. Much easier that way.

surprise no1 here has done this adjustment , it makes the car soo much easier and funner to drive.. just like putting a short shifter on a car
on the G35, you just have to loosen the lock nut and turn the rod then retighten....just maje sure you dont adjust it alot...but even a small adjustment makes a big difference
charly where did you get that diagram?

I could bet it was from this forum but i dont know it for sure because i`m a BIG "collector" of every Z-relatet pic, diagramm or article.
My Z-dealer is even asking me questions about the Z all the time....
....and requesting pics and screen-savers and........
But he is a really great guy who made me very happy inviting me to pre-sale "VIP" events ,test-drives and so on.

So... if my clutch wears out... I can say "Well, the Nissan Tech adjusted the pedal height on XXX day when I came in for service. You owe me a new clutch. ThankYouDriveThrough."
