BTW, a lot of insurance companies will pay for the depreciation to the car for being in a wreck as well as the actual cost to fix it. Trick is, you have to ask for it.

I wonder if they are required to pay it out to the 'victim' in an accident, or if its something they offer to their own customers, like, part of collision coverage.

either way, I assume that would vary from state to state, as just about everything else about auto insurance does.

The only one out of more than I wish to say that showed up on CF was the one the law got involved in. Insurance and body shops can turn it in but usually don't. Its a seriously flawed system that despite its intentions favors the seller over the buyer.Full disclosure is always best because sometimes if you are honest in a trade situation you may find out things about the car you are getting that may not have been disclosed otherwise. Its not fun to find out your car has been wrecked and here you are thinking it has not.

Hey guys, i apologize i did not get a chance to update this thread. I've got the bumper fixed last week. Nissan delivered the bumper 1.5 weeks late. They have said that, the 07-08 bumpers were back ordered [which i found amuzing?]. Anyway, they have finished the job fine. Lucky for the silver color, i couldn't tell the tone difference, but i will post pictures once i get some time off from work for you guys to take a peek at it ..

My uncle had 12k damages on his landcruiser with insurance involved and never got reported to carfax.Upon trading in dealership never noticed and gave him full trade in value for the car. Carfax is a joke. People who swears by it makes me laugh...

When i was test driving some Z's last year, few dealers at DE and PA told me that, NJ is a pretty strict state when it comes to reporting accidents. They report basically everything comparing to others states, such as DE and PA.. O'well, i do not care at this moment.. I have taken pictures. Just need to print them and put it in a file so that i can have it along with the estimate..
