Question I found something interesting today!

So me and my roommate were outside doing my spark plugs and we noticed somthing very interesting....

My 2006.5 Base Z has headers....

I never noticed this before, and this blew me away.

I bought the car used with 1 previous owner completly stock.

Can anyone here please post a picture of some 2006.5 stock headers so i can compare.

Most all headers I have even seen are cast iron and have heat shields.

Mine are tubular, are stainless steel, marndel bent, and dont have heat sheilds.

Thanks everyone!

those would be aftermarket headers. See if you can see a brand on them.

I'd hope the headers were mandrel bent.

I'd hate crush-bent headers.

Stock are exhaust manifolds, not headers. The difference is that a manifold doesn't have pipes of equal length like a header and are usually cast or forged instead of using mandrel bent piping of equal length easy to tell difference as you wont see a crazy pipe design so that the front cylinders equal the same length as the back, Also Nissan is a ISO9000:1 company so a header system would be outside of the poke-yoke (variable proof system) due to the fact that it requires too many components and constraints..

If your running headers with no supporting mods your losing trq in the low to mid end

in 2006 the 350z got a new motor that redlines at 7000 instead of 6500 like normal.

a whole bunch of new improvements and motor changes so im told.

also certain mods like the plenium spacer im told don't help at all.

just gotta be more picky with what you buy is all.

hope that helps!

PS.... My roommate is hella pissed, he spent 2 days installing his headers.
when he looked down past my spark plugs and saw these headers sitting there he about **** a brick. he was so mad that I had them and diden't know it and he spent all that time installing his. Makes me laugh lol

Are you running headers with catalytic converters?

Yes, it's the DE Rev-Up engine. Everyone is very familiar with it. But what is a 2006.5?

He was probably pissed when he spent all that time and money just to find out that headers are the worst bang for the buck mod out there.
