I'm sure this is different in each state, but I really want to get a list of what I can and cannot do to my car before I start making modifications. I live in Chicago and have been browsing through the Illinois Compiled Statutes in regards to Motor Vehicles, but there is no way to go through all of that and nothing is mentioned regarding such things as nitrous or superchargers, etc. I don't even see information regarding window tinting specifications.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should/can do?

if you are referring to modifications and their effect on the manufacturer's warranty, try a search under "magnusson" or "magnusson-moss"

 

No, I'm referring to laws and their effect on my car being impounded and me getting violations tickets for doing things that are illegal (NOS, tinted windows, headlights too low to ground, etc.)

I'm surprised this doesn't interest any of you... I guess no one ever gets pulled over by cops that have it out for kids with fast cars????
