I love this quote...

"Trucks are made for haulin' ****, sports cars are made for haulin' ***!"

(Sorry for the bleeps, but I'm only quoting. lol)

Speaking of haulin' ****, here is the story of the word .
In the 16th and 17th centuries, before commercial
fertilizer was
invented,
large shipments of manure were transported by ship. It
was shipped in
dry
bundles because in dry form it weighed a lot less than
when wet. But
once
water hit it at sea, it not only became heavier, but
the process of
fermentation began, a by-product of which is methane
gas. It didn't
take
long for methane to build up below decks and the first
time someone
came
below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before
somebody figured out
what
was happening. Once they determined the role that
manure played in the
explosions, everybody began stamping the bundles with
the term "Ship
High In
Transit," so that the sailors would know to stow it
high enough off the
lower decks so that any water that came into the hold
would not touch
this
volatile cargo and start the production of methane.

Thus evolved the term "S.H.I.T," which has come down
through the
centuries
and is in use to this very day. You probably did not
know the true
history
of this word.

Yep. folks that buy Z's should do so with both eyes wide open. I know when my street floods this winter, the Z stays in the garage. And i'm not going to get rid of my pickup any time soon.

If you like the TRUE history of words you can forget this clever fiction. It is not true.

I had heard the same EXACT story regarding the origin of S**T. I failed to truly believe it then. I guess I can go ahead and disregard it all together now.

Thanks for clearing that one up AndyB. I have been thinking about that for some time now.

Any other cool curse word origins?

why thank you! if i need to carry people or comfort i'll take out my G35 sedan. You know whats funny is that it was the harsh ride that sold me on the car. When i was looking to buy one i finally decided to test drive one, it was an auto so i had more time to concentrate of the other aspects of the car. Got the car on the freeway and i was like goddamn this car is stiff for stock....SOLD!
