Thanks man. I can't wait for the 2nd stage of mods. I am thinking about doing the Nismo sides/rear, installing my system (front/rear components, in dash TV, 10w6v2, stealth box), test pipes/HFCs, plenum spacers, sways, and probably a brake upgrade.

Agreed. The 350z is the better daily driver. I'm fortunate enough to have kept my s2k for the weekends...

 

So the project is going to begin tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow I will put the coilovers, popcharger, CF door handles, and exhaust on - and go ahead and tune the suspension to the way I want it. Also, I will be pulling the Z rear strut cover off and painting it flat black. In addition, I am considering pulling the silver trim off the steering wheel and painting it flat black as well - does anyone know how easy it is to pop the trim off?

Wednesday my CF lip will be arriving. I am going to pull the front bumper off and the headlights out - then do a DIY black housing, install my 8000ks, and pop the headlights back in. I'll put the lip on while the bumper is off then put it all back together. In addition to that I am going to pull off the 350z emblems.

Thursday I will get my stock tires dismounted so I can go ahead and put the tire pressure sensors on the SVN's. I will get the SVN's mounted/balanced and then get the alignment done. After that its just a matter of claybarring/waxing and detailing the car - then it's picture time.

Hopefully I will have some pictures of the completed project by Thursday night.

BTW this is the first time I have seen the Gemini exhaust in person - it is gorgeous. Can't wait to get it on the car after hearing that sound clip.

Ok so I got lazy and after I put the popcharger on I decided to pay the local shop (Speed Styles) 500 dollars to put on the coilovers/exhaust, demount my old wheels/tires and swap the tire pressure sensor, and then mount and balance both sets of wheels/tires.

That will be done tomorrow so all I need to do now is install the lip, doorhandles, paint the headlights, and get an alignment.

The Gemini exhaust is GORGEOUS. I am so glad the Megan exhaust was out of stock.

 

Where'd you find CF door handles? They covers or are they replacements?

 

I bought the handles from evo-r.net (a sponsor here on the forums). They are real CF covers with double sided sticky tape.

Yeah my350z members get a nice discount when you order from them.

So I picked the car up at the shop and it looks amazing so far.

The exhaust tips stick out a little bit too much for my preference, but it still looks sick esp with the rolled tips. As far as the tone it is very low and and bassy when idling/coming from stop. Once up in the powerband it becomes a lot throatier, but it never is overbearing. I haven't noticed really any drone on any part of the powerband.

The wheels are goregous as well. The offsets are perfect and I am having no rubbing issues with my 1" drop. I absolutely love the depth of the rear lip compared to the front.

I set the Megan coilovers to 16 which is the balance between street/mountain driving. As we all know the 32 levels of adjustment are a joke, but I am pleasantly surprised with these coilovers. After reading all the neutral/negative reviews about it I took a chance and it paid off. The 16 setting is still stiff, but not anywhere near as stiff as I thought it would be. I may even set it more into the mountain setting (maybe level 11 or 12) for daily driving.

Unfortunately my front lip has yet to arrive, so I will hopefully be able to get that on tomorrow night. I am going to get it aligned tomorrow and will go ahead and paint the headlights, shave the 350z emblems, throw on the door handles, and then take some pics.
