Default Post GOOD things about the Z here...

I guess I'm just getting tired of all the bitchin' or something. I figured I would start a positive thread on the Z...

I've had my Z for a little more than 4 months now and 8,000 miles. I've done 2 track events and a few 1,000 mile road trips. Last weekend I finished the last wax job for the season before storage. I still love it every bit as much as when I bought it. I still have yet to fully test the radio because the exhaust sounds so good. I still love the looks of wonder (as in "what the F##@! is it?") and admiration that this car commands. I still find myself staring at it for long periods of time in the driveway. The power is nice, the brakes and handling are superb. It has some minor issues (grease streaks, seat fabric, cupping on the front tires), but it is still the BEST car I have EVER driven or owned!

Thank you Nissan. Thank you for building a real sports car that's not watered-down for the masses (i.e. having a uselessly small backseat). I certainly hope this is not the last Z car. This car has made me a huge fan of Nissan Motor Company...any company that can produce a car like this has my loyalty. My next car will likely be a Maxima.

My favorite encounter happened the other day while my wife and I were picking out pumpkins (I'll do damn near anything for an excuse to drive it short of, let me go get you some tampons....).

We pull up, guy asks me if it's a new type of Porsche. We're all of about 8 feet from the car and not one to just let it fly, I tell him straight faced that yes in fact it is and that we just put the Nissan emblems on it to discourage people from stealing it.

I still don't know if he thought I was serious....

The car is badass and everyone knows it. That can't be said of 95% of the cars on the road.

eh my friends ask that I drive even when theres 3 of us going, theyd rather squeeze under the hatch bar and be in the trunk if thats the only way to ride in the car.

oh and chicks do love it. sadly there isnt enough room in the hatch for 2...

Chicks dont love it! Not any I seen here in Seattle, I drove past countless ones and they usually turn their noses up and refuse to glance. I got better response from old ladies lol.
I guess I should slap a BMW badge on it maybe then?! But who cares..its a great ride.
Do you think they priced it too low, I mean say if it had been 45k, would we all have still bought it? I can say I would have even at the extra strain it might have caused. Its that good

Great feeling when getting out of my car to go into a store, people around me would say nothing but drooling comments about the awesome Z.

I told this guy I work with "I want to go to the Detroit auto show in Feb to check out the new prototypes" and he said "aren't you already set for a while?"

I have the sickest car on the market. I can't say enough good things about it. RWD cars rock, I will never again own a FWD 4 cylinder. (2001 Prelude)

hah you think chicks will glance at BMW's?? not here in southern cali...you'd probably need an Italian for that...but then again...alot of snobby girls will refuse to glance at anything.

But hey...at least they "run their noses up" that means you've got SOME influencing presence...something worth hating..or worth envying. At least they're TRYING to ignore you because you HAVE a nice car...

ever though of that?!?

This is true - I dont have my Z yet, but I have a nicely done Infiniti I30, and one day I was parked on campus waiting for a friend and I see this girl that I have seen before. She never gave me the time of day then, and I didnt expect it now - but something even better happened...

She tried soooo hard to ignore me, she also ignored the 4-foot tall yellow stop block pole which prevents cars from entering a specific area.

Walked right into it. Spilled her double latte. Looked ridiculous.

Any my response, "Oh, hey, are you alright?? hahahha"

Priceless.

The new Z is the best looking car on the road and has all of the high tech stuff that the high dollar sports cars have.

it's hard to pin down...i just love it!! the looks, the handling, the ability to kick some a$$ in traffic, the way it screams out to me "drive me!!" plus, ever since 1990 i've been obsessed with the Z and it's legacy, and it just happened that when they brought it back, i finally graduated college and have been making my own money to buy it...so i considered it fate
what i also love is how it gives me an endless supply of stories to tell...like a 93 year old lady walking up to my car saying "is that the new Z? i'm glad they brought it back" or, my favorite...me and a black supra were driving slowly in traffic in different directions...his eyes were fixated on my car as we passed and mine were fixated on his hahaha it was great....

You hit it right on the head....there's really no one thing that screams out to me...it just oozes greatness from every crevice.

By far, the best exchange I've had with someone came a few months ago...I was vacuuming out my Z at the local touchless, and a guy in a bright yellow Corvette Z06 pulled alongside me with all kinds of questions and compliments....I couldn't help but laugh to myself afterwards...9 times out of 10 the guy with the 'Vette is the complimentee, not the complimenter!
