Im lost here. The dealer ive been in contact with seems to be clueless.
They can not tell me what features are on the car they have coming in on Sept 9th. They claim to have no VIN # for this car either. All they know is that its a touring and BLUE.
Is this for real? If they have no VIN how the heck is it arriving in 9days? This makes no sense.
I refuse to put a deposit on a car with NO information. I dont want NAV and curtin bags, and my luck it would have it.
HELP QUICK, I DONT WANT TO LOOSE OUT ON ANOTHER Z!!!
TMA505 S259877 is the only info he has....
CAN THIS HELP?

I have discovered with my dealer, that not all dealers have direct access to the computer systems that allow access to the reports. Mine has to call to get them, and they are faxed over to them. This may be the case with the dealer you are working with. If the car is coming on the 9th, NNA definitely has a VIN in their system. Look for the post from ZISME for the name of the reports and tell the dealer to get a hold of those reports. If the car is listed on the reports with no VIN, I would be VERY surprised if it shows up before October.
As for the options thing, that is just a Dealer screw up. They had the paperwork at one point. Did they throw it away? Maybe. Are they just too lazy to find it? Probably. Do they know how to operate a business? Doubtful.

"Dealer has distribution reports that are available to print out at his dealership daily...two examples are KMD3210-R2 - Production Ordering Detail Report and KMD3210-R3 - Customer Orders Report."
My dealer will have 0 clue how to access these reports. Please go into detail... They didnt even know 1-800-Nissan1 existed. Nor did they know 18s were standard on the touring pacakge.
SImply put- HOW DO I obtain information on what features this car has in it. The delivery date somehow they already know. So, how do I get a VIN to go with it?
Thanks
scott
PS_ if this was explained in the other post, sorry, i must have skimmed it.

I would recommend asking the dealer to pull the reports on the car. At the very least, there's a long string of hieroglyphics on the report which, to the trained eye, can tell you what options the car is equipped with.
Simple answer: Get the dealer to spit out the report and provide us the details. Not only can we tell you the options, but we apparently know more than him...

I find it odd that this dealer "knows" he will be getting a car on Sept. 9th. Maybe he's ********ting you right there...perhaps this mythical car doesn't have a VIN yet because it's not on its way?
Also, I don't know if it's fair to blame Nissan...not that they haven't screwed up here, they might have...it just seems more likely you're dealing with an incompetent or insincere dealer.

You are probably going to get the best results going down there. Take those report numbers. Someone at the dealer knows what one or both of those reports are. They will know how they get the reports. Once they get you the report, maybe they, or we, could help you decipher it. I fear Tim may be right, though. I hope not.
Let us know how it goes.

Apparently in this little rednecky store only 3 people work as salesmen haha.
A few months back the sales manager (the one with the paperwork) left. Now the 3 stooges cant find it, or so they claim.
I know they HAVE had cars come in, so thus far they are good to thier word. A couple weeks ago I asked about when they were getting some Z's in, and ill be darned they had it right down to the day.
Still, Im not putting cash down if it has tons of features i dont want and cant afford. Id also have to get a loan IMMEDIATELY, trade in my car, and borrow another 4 gs from a friend..........ALL that just to find out they are full of shyt. That would **** me off good haha.
Hey, we will see. I may go in Monday.

my dealer gave me some of the same stuff. He gave me two dates for delivery(9/2 or 9/6), but couldn't come up with a VIN. This was around 8/22. I told him to look on the forms mentioned by ZISME. He said he had, but there was no VIN. This really upset me. I eventually got the VIN and a delivery date of 9/28-maybe earlier by begging ZISME for help. He is really helpful. Ask him. What have you got to lose? Good luck.

on his user name. Man knows a lot about what is going on. I asked the same type question you did about "some strange number" and he broke the code for me. Look on zcar.com and search his name there as well.
And be nice... never know who is reading what you post.
Good luck.

I did the search on "ZISME" and found the following information. Also saw another post where ZISME asked we go to zcar.com and find some of the info we were asking for answered there. ZISME is the 2nd in charge of launching the Z here in the US. Had his name revealed on one of the sites I saw. Today, he was on CNN for about a minute in a news update on the Z. Here is the post I referred to earlier. Also, ZISME has another email address that is from his office with company name. Just post requests to him and hope you are one of the lucky ones to get answered.

Dealer has distribution reports that are available to print out at his dealership daily...two examples are KMD3210-R2 - Production Ordering Detail Report and KMD3210-R3 - Customer Orders Report. Both of these reports would tell a Dealer what month vehicles assigned to him are scheduled to be built and what month they are estimated to be delivered. This much information is available for all the pre-orders. Must be understood that these delivery estimates are just that...estimates.
Once a vehicle gets built and loaded on a ship and the ship departs for the U.S. a vin# will show up in our system. Once the vin# shows up, the two (2) reports referenced above update with the vin # and a closer approximation of when the vehicle will arrive. Please understand that vin info is not available until the ship sails and we are going to still be building pre-orders in September, so it will be quite a while before vin info is available for all pre-sell customers. Now the hard part, getting some dealers to look at these reports and communicate the information.
Let me stress that some dealers are communicating with their customers and working the program correctly, others may be hesitant to pass on the info on the reports because it is subject to change and they don't trust the report and still others may for whatever reason not be familiar with the reports. We are communicating to the dealer the importance of calling their customers and will continue to press the issue. I guess if it were me, I would try and visit my dealer in person and inquire. Nissan Consumer Affairs is an avenue to register your complaint, however they are not equipped to handle a situation where you feel your vehicle should have been built before someone else or you think your dealer held your order and didn't fax it in quick enough.
Regarding the other issues in your post.....in order for us to be able to run a pre-sell program where you would be given the opportunity to have us build the car to your specifications, there needed to be ample lead time between the beginning of the program and when the first production order was due to the factory. Our program began in January and the first order to the factory was due in April (to begin to be built in June). So there was a large number of pre-sell orders available for the first production order, however there was only a small number of orders that were available to be built in that production order.
The pre-sell orders left then moved to the next months order, then what was left was moved to the next month, etc. We did the best we could to try and prioritize early orders first, but the orders also had to be distributed fairly across the country. For example we could not fill all west coast orders before east coast orders. I can tell you that we did make sure that pre-sold orders were prioritized before unsold orders.
Other factors come in to play at the factory, but I can not explain how that process works. It is possible and probably did happen that some dealers mistakenly held their orders before faxing them in...I don't know who, if any, and it is not going to change anything to find out. But it wouldn't matter how I explained the process there will always be an exception...just the way things work. I know everyone is not going to be happy about the delivery information they receive, but you will still receive the car you ordered, based on your specifications, within the delivery window we communicated in your confirmation letter.
