What year is this car?

Wrong.
2005 is the year for 2 similar but different motors and it was a "rev-up" VQ35DE S1 you're talking about not the HR.
ALL 2006's got the Rev-up or "S1" version of the VQ35DE and has a different timing cover than in the pic posted.
Here OP......here's your "evidence" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_350Z#Specifications
The motor in the car in the second pic should look like the attached picture below....

The car is 03 -06, looking at the hood, in 07 the hood has the center hump or raised section like the old Datsuns Z cars 240Z -280Z. I have no idea how "u peeple can tell the headlights are from a specific year, they all look the same to me so long as they 03 -08 and 350Z cars.

My mistake. I stand corrected.
I used HR term wrongly instead of Revup
My 07 is HR and I don't own a rev-up.
My 06 AUTO roadster is DE as well as my G and others.

In 2005 Nissan launched a 35th Anniversary edition, with a revised exterior and interior (see Special Editions below). 35th Anniversary 6-speed manual models and Track models were a mid-year introduction, and included the 300HP/260TQ Rev-up engine. Automatic transmission-equipped 35th Anniversary edition models continued with the original VQ35DE with 287HP/274TQ.
For the 2006 model year, the 350Z received a number of notable changes for its mid-cycle facelift. The 300HP/260TQ Rev-up engine that was introduced mid-year 2005 with 6-speed manual was offered for every trim now. Purchasing a 5-speed automatic meant you still got the VQ35DE with 287HP/274TQ. The headlights now sported larger bi-xenon projectors, the front bumper had been revised, the rear taillights now use LEDs, and interior changes brought differences to the center console, among other small things. Touring and Grand Touring models have radio-steering controls standard, MP3 CD compatibility, and Satellite Radio became an available option. The 5AT transmission also received an update, which made it rev-match for every downshift.
For the 2007 model year, the 350Z was again moderately revised. The VQ35DE V6 was replaced with a new, but still 3.5 L VQ35HR V6. It produced 306 hp (228 kW) at 6800 rpm with 268 ft·lbf (363 N·m) at 4800 rpm. The hood was revised featuring a bulge reminiscent of the original 240Z. In the US, trims levels were narrowed down to 350Z (base), Enthusiast, Touring, and Grand Touring, while in Europe the same trim levels remained.

Well it is "possible" that these two pictures are the same car but the car would have had to go about some changes.
The first pictures shows a 2003-2005 350z. With the vq35de NON rev-up motor. You can see the 2003-2005 350z headlights as well as the noticable non rev up motor through the timing cover.
The second pictures shows what seems to be a 2006, With 2006 headlights, 2006 front bumper, 2006 wheels, and still using the vq35de HOOD. Althought it is quite possible that the owner bought a 2003-2005 350z and replaced the headlights, front bumper, and rims from and 2006 . Likely? no, Possible? YES
so by only showing these two photographs there is no definite answer.
first pictures is probably a 2003-2005
second is probably a 2006
Only thing certain is that these two pictures are NOT a 2007 or 2008
