That was a true GT-R in 2F2F. A damn fine one until Craig Liberman bought it from MotoRex. That Skyline was the Blackbird that the owner ran as his own personal ride until buying a white V-SpecII. Mr. Lieberman tuned it into a real rice burner and got cover time on some crap-*** mags. Then rented the car and served as "import technical consultant" for the movie, where it got repainted and severely de-tuned and set up for drifting. And AWD cars can drift, technically, anything with at least two wheels can drift. The ATTESA system on GT-Rs varied slightly between the last three models, but all used a computer to vary a center clutch mechanism determining how much torque was applied to the front tires. The only unit with any pre-load was the R33, whereas the R32 and R34 chassis had 0:100 split from a standstill.
Well.... just FYI.

Hmm... really? Then I think I was wrong... Or they simply used several other replica made out of GT-S and forgot to remove the GT emblem..because I clearly saw it in the movie and GTR doesn't have that badge as long as I understand. Maybe they just put it on for the looks? I wouldn't do that.

Don't doubt ya. From what I understand they had three seperate cars for the film, all painted to match Lieberman's. It would make sense to use a GT-S for body double as few would notice and cheaper too. I remember NPM had an article on his GT-R if you wanted to check it out. Now it's for sale and used in Goldline Springs' advertising. Still looks like expensive rice though.

If you would just read the article that SCC did on the cars in 2fast2 fuious you would see all about it. That skyline wasa POS that they could only run 14's in and they disconnected the AWD system so they could drift.

Sorry if I posted old info, just skimmed the thread.

Woo... 14's? With GTR? Naw.... at least bone out stock GTR could do a lot better than that... They just messed car up.

What really cracked me up is when a friend of mine who doesn't know sh*t about cars said when he saw the Skyline in the movie: "Wow, that's a souped up Impala"

First of all.. this was a great find... and enjoyed watching it.

seanrulz is correct... there is no GT-R badging on the back (and front too)...
Maybe just a suped-up GT-S .... as a wannabe GT-R... see lots of them.

Interesting..though.. the wheels are R34 GT-R spec

All of the cars they used in the movie were messed up and slower then stock, other then the S2000, fastest car in themovie other then the replica yanko (sp) camaro, but only in a line and not by much.

Great video, but it seemed like an abrupt ending.

Actually, it was. SCC had an article on this. They removed the front half-shafts to make the car RWD so that it could drift.

I wonder what a Black Z would look like with a white dragon overlay... probably pretty RICEY... but thats exactly what that skyline was... so are you calling the skyline tacky in the animation.
no sir. don't go putting words in my mouth. the idea of a dragon emblem is tacky. you're right. to me. it's tacky.
