Stock headers do NOT have good flow. Have you seen them? There's a reason they installed what are effectively equal-length headers in the HRs. The only reason people avoid them on the DEs is just the simple fact that it's a royal pain in the butt to install them.

Don't forget about ye ol' camber kits and maybe a nice corner balancing (the ECU reflash of suspensions). I'm diggin' those wheels!

Hahaha. I never said not to. I just said not to get the Borla headers. In terms of bang-for-your buck, headers are fairly low on the list due to overall cost (parts + labor).

You are off to a good start. Don't forget carbon fiber. The more the better!

Thumbs down

Please leave the wheels silver. Black wheels look like you have a forklift wheel/tire on the car.

borla headers blow. even borla admitted they did next to zero R&D on it. for the most part people either lose or stay at the same power levels with these.

What are your supercharger plans? What brand? Clutch and flywheel should be high up on your list, same with cooling mods.

I'm not very knowledgeable in this arena, but isn't looking at them and comparing them to a change made on a motor with different heads a horrible way to compare their flow to aftermarket heads?

I dont know quite yet, I am still researching. But naturally I would want the other mods, clutch, flywheel, etc. to be done before, or around the same time as the supercharger...

Enkei RPF1s 19" will be powder coated black
KW Variant 2 coilovers (gotta get that flush look )
Borla True Dual
Stillen High Flow Cats
Borla Headers
Carbon Z tube
JWT Pop charger
Tommy Kaira Heavy Baby Heavyweight Shift ****

So what do you guys think? Good start or what? I'm so excited to get all this installed and looking good.

I LOVE MY Z!!!!!!!
You're off to a good start. Yes, the Z is very expensive to mod.

I put Strup headers on my 06 about a month ago. I absolutely love them. They definitely put a smile on my face when I floor it. Makes my Injen true dual louder, and definitely sounds more throaty.

They are a HUGE pain in the backside to install. I spent 3 hours trying myself, and only got the OEM heat shields off, and busted up my knuckles and fingers in the process. A shop completed the install for me here on the island, and took them all day.

OP, don't forget those NISMO stickers, guaranteed easier to install than headers and cheaper than decent CF. Easy 5whp per sticker

Now see, I got that beat already, I've got the Nismo stickers in Japanese characters on its way, i was told by a friend, who has them, that they dyno with a real 10-15 whp... I bought one that covers the entire windshield, one character alone is 28/17

But get this, I also have a contact at APC to get me a banner sized decal for the back windshield, so yeah, I'll be racing pink slips in no time

BTW, What is the best exhaust for the Z?

THAT just happened!

I'd have saved some of that $ of your mods and put it towards the SC since you seem to be going FI route.

You should have gone with different headers. Do a little research...no equal length tubing = no good.

Ya I know, was matching brands, and heard good things about the exhaust, lesson learned. I already canceled the headers, so I'm good, just need to find some new ones now...
