Damage seems to be more than $1500, but IMHO not a total loss. Maybe OP should go for a widebody kit!!!!!

OP: G/L!!

^ Th only reason I believe it is totaled is bc of the year/milage and the current value of our Z's. From from the pics it looks like he need a new iner/outer quarter panel, repair on the door, new/repair rocker panel and bumper (can't tell from pics), and blend the hatch. Not to mention all the disassembly and reassembly, and any frame time that's going to be needed.

im saying 2500-3000. i had similar damage to mine and i was estimated 2800 with with paint and labor includes. and im from canada so im guessing stuff cheaper there in the states. if i remember correctly the quarter panel costs somwhere between 1000-1200 buxx or sumthing but i think thats a price where the body shop make money off you. i just checked online and the part is about 500 bux.

First thing I thought as well. Attempted snow drifting gone wrong and turned into a hit and run. 20 mph just as you happened to be leaving the parking lot? What did the truck owner say? Or does the truck owner only see the tire marks all over the parking lot leading up the back of their truck, and then some hasty departure tire tracks? "Other than that the truck was basically fine".

That's easily 5 K in work. For insurance to pay for that type of thing they may need an accident report. I hope money grows on trees for you.

Really it's only so funny to me because no one got hurt. You were being stupid and you got owned.

I was gonna say the same thing. I had mine repaired in December for $2000, but I had way less damage and didn't have to replace the door skin or quarter panel. Here's mine for comparsion...if it helps, GL though.

SORRY!

I'm guessing the parking lot was covered in snow when it happened right?? I have summer tires on front but have had no problems driving the cleared roads, at all. I think snow and ice on the road is the biggest problem.
yes completely covered.

Truck owner was nice. very nice...i think he was gay. He was at a hotel with a guy recovering from "WOMEN" problems. He said he would take his truck to his bodyshop, he can get it done cheap.

That looks pretty bad, hope you get back up soon.

(This is why I always keep my trailer hitch on my Tundra even when I am not towing)

I'm guessing no more than $3000 but what we think around here is pretty much useless. Regardless, it will covered by insurance and your rates won't go up as much as the damage unless you are really young or have had other claims. Just take it in and get the professional estimate.
And totaled? Are you on crack?

i had a similiar accident. the quarter panel is $800 plus a butt load of labor. If your car is an 03 imo the car will be totaled out. Anything over 1\3 of the cars value is totaled so your car around 4k easy

It's more like half the value. $hit, it's 70% for my insurance company. I had $16K worth of damage to my Z, and it still wasn't totaled.

lol to the guy who said it was totalled... i say $4000 at the most.. ur crazy if u think an insurance company is going to total a $15000 vehicle for that kind of cosmetic damage.. the quarter panel will obviously need replaced/painted but i think that door is repairable.
