thanks for the fast reply, Enthiziast.. However, are you considering taking your vehicle to the Nissan dealership? should warranty cover this? my car is pretty new and lower mileage than yours.. and it is already having this problem.. i think it can only get worst?

I would be taking it in if I had time. I will next time I get my oil change. If you have time I would go or at least call right away....especially with mileage as low as yours.

most likely reason for squeaking is dust. clean your rotors next time you wash your car.

Hey everyone I bought my 05 Touring 2 weeks ago and the wheels "sqeeked" when I bought it. I told them to take a look at it and they said its just because they are "new." Well 2 weeks later and the brakes still sqeek, what should I do?

sounds like your rotors and pads are glazed, you have one of two options.....take it back and have the dealership re-surface your rotors and rough out your pads, or jack your car up, remove the wheels and take some 50 grit sandpaper to your rotors and pads(which you have to remove)....brakes will glaze if they are heated quickly and then slammed on when they are new.........

it works, i was a tech at toyota for ten years, we used to have to do it to new supra's all the fuqen time because people would go out straight off the lot and glaze the sh^t out of them(can't blame em)....they would be squealing within a day or two....

Hey guys,
Don't worry about the squeaking brakes. It's completely normal...even for other new model cars & trucks out there. The reason? They have removed a compound from the brake pads; I believe they used to contain lead. With this compound now removed for environmental reasons, brakes have a tendency to "squeal" at lower braking speeds. I've confirmed this with the Nissan service manager here in Fort Worth, TX. Sounds sensible...just roll your window down and listen to how many other newer cars tend to have slight braking noises. I don't know if the Brembo pads have the same issue though.

Well it friggin sucks, its a 30K + sports car and the brakes squeal. I drive around the city looking all sharp in the car only to slow down at lights with neons and civics with my brakes squealing. Im upgrading to Project Mu screw the OEM brakes, they have a lot of fade when driving hard any way.

new pads and rotors need to be properly bedded to avoid possible squeaks.

try geting a can of break cleaner spray at your local auto store for a buck and spray it on your rotors. Works for me. It's probably just dirt.

Guys!!! These are performance oriented brakes...squeeking is the very nature of their compound. Ever heard a big brake kit (ANY brand) roll down the road?? Sqeeeeeeek. The pads are more abrasive causing the noise. It is complaints like this by unknowing people that caused the Z to get heavier the past couple of years (sound deadening material) and the G to lose the Brembos (BRAKE NOISE). If you are looking for a lincoln go buy one, cars are not magic, it cant be all things to all people, there are tradeoffs!!!

Wow buddy I didn't ask for weight to be added to anything, was just wondering why they were squeeking and making sure there wasn't anything wrong.

Seriously... I'm surprised more people don't know this. Anyone who's ever run performance/race pads will tell you that they squeak like crazy. That's the price you pay for performance.
