Trade 350z for a G35 worth it or not?

Not to offend anyone with a G. But down here in South Fla. Alot of the G owners are women... You see a few Z's drive by but not enough so that you're not happy to see one. Whenever i'm driving mine I get the urge to chase after another Z when I see it. I'd say keep the Z. It's just too fun!

reading the first page to this thread all answers are pretty one sided. i will have to agree with everyone. dont do it. the G's bad title will hunt you later. you are going to lose $ if you do a 1-1 trade. remember, you can always sell the Z without any problems. who wants to buy a car that has been stolen, stripped and recovered..i sure wouldnt.

THREAD UPDATE: I ended up trading the RX-8 for the G.
Before anyone criticizes me for trading a clean title RX-8 for a rebuilt G35, it was a personal choice.
The RX8 was paid off so was the G, and we do not plan on selling the G. It has 44K on the clock so I'm sure we'll get plenty of enjoyment before we would even consider selling. Plan on driving it until the wheels fall off.
The RX8 was not a horrible car I'm just not a rotary guy. I like to work on my own cars like many of you and Mazda was not a platform I was used to nor capable of tinkering with.
My friend ended up trading the RX-8 to the dealership after we made the trade.
As for my 350z, I still have her, and next week plan on taking it to the body shop to install an ing+1 front lip and EVO-R Blitz replica spoiler

that makes me lol. your friend traded in the rx8 immediately - sounds like he just wanted a non salvage/rebuilt title vehicle for trade in value.
oh well, what matters in the end, is that you are happy with what you are driving. congrats.

I have had a 2003 350z and a 2003 G35, and I am now in the process of selling my g35 to get another 350z, the g35 isnt as sporty as the z, the curves are not as sexy, it is more luxury and less sport. I had more fun driving the z, I got more looks driving the z, I got more speed with the z... keep your z

If you asked this same question on G35Driver... you already know the responses you would get compared to my350z.com. Honestly, 350z is very impractical. I bought my car the day it came out thinking since I rarely have passengers, Z would be better. I was wrong. Owning a Z, you need a 2nd car. You can't fit anything in it, because frankly, it was designed to be on a race track. The 370z was designed better, it had more usable space even though it was shorter. My vote is G35, purely personal preference. Longer wheelbase, has rear seats so I can have sex back there instead of the Z where I have to lay the girl on my hood. Totally exciting once, but that gets old.. Sorry guys, feel me here, not every girl is worth the cost of a motel/hotel. Anyhow, if you have friends, buddies, sometimes it's nice to have that extra room for another two heads. Z drivers hate G, G drivers hate Z; so pick your poison. If you go G, obviously you must leave this site immediate there after. If you go Z, you are honored to stay. Just how it is, sad huh? Both cars same manufacturer; NISSAN.
Also to comment on the the RX-8, that car has amazing handling, what it lacks is a triple rotary turbo setup. It drinks too much gas for the power it lacks. But the body lines are great when you body kit it. Factory it resembles too much of a missile, thus killing it's appeal.

I wouldnt, only difference is a little quieter cabin and a back seat. The interior really isnt much nicer. Im not a fan of the G at all my best friend has one and its no where near on par with my Z in the corners and i pull him pretty hard in a straight line as well. With a shitty title its just not worth it to me, hell with a clean title its not but its to each his own. If i want something more luxurious i wouldnt go with a G its not that luxurious but it does have a pretty clock lol. If i wanted luxury i look at a used audi, or bmw thats just me.

I would guess you take a $3-4000 hit for the bad title.
Take the RX8 to the dealer and pay $2k to swap for an old G. Nice gift for the friend, tho.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but your friend screwed you. Any care with a rebuilt title is worth maybe 50% of its book, unless you sell it to someone who knows nothing about it. Your friend just wanted a car that the dealership will take for a trade, and a car with a rebuilt title doesn't sell or trade...
