Funny story: I was doing 40 in the carpool while it was raining like crazy. Behind me is a white guy in his 40's in a huge truck. He tailgates me for a good 5 miles before he can't take it anymore and moves out to the right. I look over to my right and i see him point at me, then pretends to suck a **** with his hand. Seriously, how immature can he be? 40 and doing that to a guy in his 20's.

Glad you are ok. I have seen lots of pics of wrecked z's and the front/rear crash engineering is amazing. That is from only 60km/h and the front is competely folded with what looks like NO disturbance to the cockpit.
Amazing ppl drove rwd cars around at all before the invention of fwd...
Seriously, it really is not that difficult to drive in poor weather in rwd. You do have to drive more carefully but big deal. My z is a dd through rain, snow, ice and whatever else the stupid *** state of oklahoma throws at it. Now those on here that have higher hp z's (over 400whp) those are a different story and they would be a bit crazy driving in poor weather.

To all the non-rain drivers; the rain is the most fun to drive in. Once you learn how a car slides it should be no problem. Everyone makes mistakes though.

After reading that I need to clarify. In no way is my previous post in respect to this unfortunate wreck of the OP. Accidents happen, sometimes even with the best of care.

Once the tire’s tread can no longer dissipate the water build-up, you’re in big trouble. If it happens to all four tires simultaneously, you have no control (i.e., you cannot turn or stop). It appears to be the case here.

- Of course a lighter car with wide tires (the Z for example) is more prone to hydroplaning.
- At 60 degrees F in the wet there is less friction; the compound in your summer performance tires won’t heat much and remains pretty hard allowing the tires to float.
- There is more chance of hitting standing water (worst case scenario) at this time of year when there is more rain and melting of the snowpack.
