Default My purchase experience at Palm Beach Nissan

I will try to keep inflamatory terms to a minimum as not to slander the bastards!!!. When I went in to put my preorder in Feb it was after getting a shock from the first dealer I called who had asked for 7K over MSRP and these guys said "MSRP" so I went in, when I got there it turn into MSRP plus a 2K extended warranty, well after the 7K shock I figured an overpriced extended warranty wasn't too bad so I took the deal, then came the lack of customer support not a single call except for yesterday when the car got there, I had to resort to Nissan for all of my information and got on a first name basis with them they were really nice and apologized for the dealer's behaviour.

When I first went in in Feb they told me to come back in Aug when they would have some cars!!! That's is when I found the websites and learned about the preorders so I called them back and finally got someone that took the order I think I was the first one they took. They made me take all options, which wasn't bad in retrospect (I was only worried abouth the aero since no pictures but I am glad I got it), they told me they would take the aero off but still charge 150 so I said leave it on, then they asked for a 5K nonrefundable deposit, which I said OK, I was not walking away from this car.

Then the fun yesterday, I asked them if I could pay for the warranty separately so I could use it as a business expense and save taxes, that is when the sh#$ hit the fan they had to face up to the fact that the warranty was not worth 2K, so they huddled the braintrust and came out with that the car was 1K over MSRP and the warranty was 1K. I started getting upset and asked why they couldn't do what I had asked they were still getting the same amount of money and then the sh#$ started to flow as to how orginally it was supposed to be 2.5K over MSRP, LIE, then it was take it or leave it. Being Saturday I had not options and I figured if I left and waited until Tuesday they car would be gone so I took it but I got the frustrations out that had built up over the last 6+ months and made a scene, I am normally a quiet guy but this was a great release and I felt better and enjoyed the hell out of the car the rest of the day.

Come Tuesday I will start my campaign to give them as much of a headach as possible for thinking that they were smarter than me, I already let Zisme know, I will let Nissan CA, the BBBB and the owners of the chain (United Auto) and the managers of the franchise know. I don't expect anything but I will make that weasel that was the hardass and couldn't come in and face me but rather let the salesmen take the brunt of my tirate feel some of the pain, by the way the salesmen was also pissed as just that morning they had found out the were only getting a 600 flat fee for the cars not the standard percentage, they even screw eachother, what a profession.

I will do this as a sport because I am not letting it ruin my mood and experience with this awesome car.

Default Dealer Experience Reviews

Westpack,

That really sucks what happend to you. I can't believe taking delivery of Z's can be such a bad experience although I'm sure the car can make up for some of it.

Someone else suggested it and I think it's a good idea to list good or bad reviews of dealers and their salespersons. I haven't gotten the best treatment from my dealere either. Lots of lies and misinformation--quite frustrating.

I think if we can all get together as a group and complain to NNA about the overwhelmingly bad customer service, then they can't ignore it.

I'm also sorry to hear about how you were treated. There needs to be a seperate thread concerning this. Is United Auto owned by Penske ? I hope not , bc Peachtree Nissan where I bought is part of the United team.

The 7 spoke is 17 inches while the 6 spoke is 18 inches.

Besides that, the look really is just preference although most people would prefer the 18 inchers cause it's bigger.

I am glad for you, I personally like the 17" better, they had a Performance there with the 18" and I like the look of the 17" better with the square look of the spokes and the little Z squares on the spokes.

Default Not the way i would have done it..but

First let me say how embrassed i am for the professional nissan dealers out here. You were not treated in the manner in which we ecpect to be treated ourselves...

Second, shame on them for screwing you in the first place. You should have had all documents and fees in january.

Enjoy your new car, and let Nissan know car sales in the USA have changed,

people do business with people.

Westpak,

That really sucks, but compared to the dealers in Las Vegas, yours wasn't so bad. I ended up having to pre-order from an honest dealer in Albuquerque because all three Nissan dealers here scored a perfect 100 on the slime-o-meter. Check out my thread entitled "Pure evil" for a recap of what is STILL going on here at Douglas Nissan.

Enjoy your Z and don't worry about those clowns. I'm a firm believer in Karma, and I think most car salesmen will end up being somebody's ***** in prison....well, maybe that's wishful thinking.

Yup similar crap happened to me.

At least when they said "take it or leave it" you got to KEEP IT!!

HE said "if i didnt take my deposit and leave, he would KEEP it and sell the car to someone else."

I took my deposit, now its in someone elses driveway.

STILL NO Z for me!!!

GOD DAMN YOU HORRIBLE DEALERS, I HOPE YOUR DIRTY ROTTEN CARCUSES ROT IN A MOLTEN HELL!!

I agree, my experience wasn't too bad, that is why I walked out with the car, it is just a matter of principle to me from here on. I don't expect anyone to do anything about it but at least I will get my enjoyments worth out of the markup. Like the saying goes, "I don't get mad I get even", well I guess in my case it should be "I get mad then I get even". I am enjoying the hell out of the car and that is not going to change, the messing with the dealer is just going to be a sport, I just want them to realize that they are not smarter than me they just had some leverage, which being the wekend it didn't help that nobody was in at Nissan, but they will know I that I did not appreciate the treatment.

Well, my experience got a little better, after calling today and telling the GM that I was disappointed with the misinformation on the price of the car it turned into pointing fingers amongst them to see who was at fault, but they came through and lowered the price of the car to MSRP. over 300 miles and counting since Saturday!!!!

Question Hanging Chads

No reflection intended towards you, but is Palm Beach, FL where all those "hanging Chads" were during the last election?
Maybe the dealership you dealt with designed those ballots???? LOL

Funny you mention that... Last year I did a medical rotation at the Jackson Medical Center in Miami. I lived in downtown Miami for the two weeks and I can't begin to emphasize how many people there had a comprehension level equivalent less than my dog. At first I was just shocked by the number of stupid people out there. For example, if I went to a deli and asked for a sandwich without mayo, I'ld get a blank stare. As my stay in Miami progressed, I realized that a large number of people in that city were just that stupid. It took about 4 days into my stay in Miami when it finally dawned on me that I was in the notorious "Miami-Dade County" which couldn't count ballots. In retrospect, I wouldn't blame the ballot counters, I would blame the idiots in Miami-Dade who voted in the first place. If you ask me, they shouldn't be allowed to vote in the future.

(if you're from Miami-Dade county and you're reading this, then chances are you an exception... after all I've never met an idiot who has ordered/owned a 350z)
