I Missed The Call!
Yesterday morning (Saturday), I went on the website to see if Cerritos Nissan had any new cars in stock. To my surprise, theu had three. 1 base, and 2 performance models. I thought, I want one of those performance models, I should call her and see if they are cancelled orders. As some people know, I am #1 on the waiting list. I knew it was going to happen, I predicted my own destiny. My parents were leaving out of town, and I knew the dealer was going to call right after they left. I told them too, so just to be on the safe side, I called the dealer and Kathy who is in charge of the Z's, was busy with a delivery. Anyways, my parents leave to Fresno, and I go to work. I call Kathy during my break, and she tells me that she called me earlier, but I didnt pick up. I missed the call as I left to work!!!! There was nothing I could do about it anyways since my parents left out of town, and I'm only 17, so I could not do anything about the paperwork. I missed out on the LeMans Sunset Performance. Oh well! I have bad luck for these things. They sold the car since they called the next people in line. I guess I have to wait longer. I'm going to kill myself, I cant take it anymore.

Then come time for the costly maintenance who's taking care of that? Then the insurance? Who's paying for the roof over your head?
17 year olds with nice cars ::thumbsdown::
No hating... just being realistic.
I always wonder when 17 year-olds say they are paying for a car. How are you exactly paying for a 34k+ car (including insurance)? Even if you had a 20% deposit (somehow you managed to save up $6800 mowing lawns). How do you plan on paying back the rest?
Even if you manage to get a 5% loan for the rest and pay it back over 5 years, that's still $500 a month. Add the cost of the insurance--at 17, your policy would cost around 3000 a year. That's $250 a month. Oh, don't forget gas, that's roughly $100 a month. That totals up to $850 a month. This does not even include the cost of maintainance.
If you have a pretty decent part time job to pay this off, cause there's no way you'll be able to afford that much flipping burgers.
I don't mean to flame you or anything. If you actually manage to pull it off, I have a lot of respect for ya; you're a lot more responsible than me when I was your age. It's just hard to believe when you do the math.

You guys are forgetting we are living in an Ebay and online commerce age. I know several 17-19 years old maiking $60,000+ on the side while going to school at the same time. Sorry folks but times are changing and making big bucks does not have to do with age anymore. So cut him and other 17 year olds who might actually be paying fo rthe car by themselves some slack. Although i have to say, you wont find too many of these ppl around.

It's going to be higher than $3000. I'm 22 with a fairly clean record, minus ONE traffic accidents. No tickets. I'm looking right about 2200 a year. The guy that just bought my GSR for his 16 yr old son. The GSR is going to be 2500 a year!!!! Geeeez.
Better up that to 3500-4000 for this guy...
Any 17 yo making 60K on e-bay must really be onto something! I would think that that is the exception and not the rule.
Usually when a kid says he is paying for it, it means he gives dad his piggy bank and the dad picks up the majority of the rest (including insurance and gas and maintenance).
Would I take it if someone gave me this car at age 17
NO WAY....I have too many principles to do so.....
Now, let us talk about that swampland in Jersey I have for sale.

Why is it funny? Because you dont know anyone who does? Just because you dont know anyone who can, does that mean no one can. I know 2 people personally in college who have saved up cash for full payment on E46. BTW, I am 27 but I have been making about $50,000/year on the side while putting in minimal hours per week for the last 2 years. Trust me, it can be done and is being done by people out there

But whatever... it's a ITTY BITY minority. So who cares? This kid... is be sponsored by the parents most likely.
im not pointing fingers or saying your not ready but at 17 I couldnt have personally understood what it takes to buy and mantain a 30k+car.I hope are getting straight A's and going to Harvard because otherwise you cant possible appreciate this car.Good luck try not to show off to much when you get your car and parking that at high-school should be a no no.I think you shouldnt be talking about killing yourself over not getting this car your still first in line and getting a z at 17(I can barely type that last bit).

Although I don't know Icyblue, I have met him. I would never have guessed he was only 17. His maturity level exceeds many of those on this forum.
I hope he is there when the next call comes, and he can pick up his Z. I think he is deserving.
I also hope that no one wants that base model they receieved, and that I can pick that one up, and end this dreadful waiting.

Ok. I was at work making money to pay for the car so I couldn't reply. First of all, I'm going to be working the maz allowed by the state of California which is 30 something hours. I don't care if people here dont like the fact that I am getting the Z at age 17. I'm going to pay for it, you dont have to believe me if you dont want to. I go to the #2 public high school in California (California Academy of Math and Science), which is way harder than going to college. So I'm a Senior in high school and work almost full time, plus stuff I have to do with family. I think I'm working my *** off more than other people. Just so you know, my WHOLE paycheck is going towards the car. Yes, my parents are the ones who feed me and put a roof over my head. Do I have to live on my own in order to deserve the car? I think not. I've been patiently for a car for over a year and a half. Insurance is going to be cheap in my opinion. I got a quote from AAA of around $175 per month by adding the car and myself to the policy. Car payment should be around 500 to 600. I also want to apologize since my parents are going to help me with gas money. Maintenance and repairs could be done by my dad and I, if not, they I apologize again if my dad shall pay to take it to the dealer. I hope everyone is satisfied. Even if I deserve the car or not, I'm still getting and dont give a f what others say since I know that I'm working my *** for my 350Z.
