Question mud build up on rear splash guard?

i was thinking about getting the splash guards and i was looking over the instructions for installation on courtesy nissan's website. i have never seen the splash guards in person up close, but from the illustration, it would seem that there is a shelf behind the rear wheels.

if there is a shelf, my question is if a lot of mud and stuff get stuck on that shelf? thanks for the info.

Yeah, I don't know what the designer was smoking when they put in that "shelf". I was detailing my Roadster this weekend and it looked like there was a damn rock quarry back there. PITA.

I wouldn't be trimming it off. If you do it's not going to look right. I usually get the spray nozzle back there and spray whatever is in it. As long as you do that at every washing there shouldn't be any problems. I like the splash guards because it doesn't look like the any typical guards out there. IMO.

Hmm, I took off my splash guards. And the car does not get any more dirty, and nothing dings or scratches the paint there. IMO it looks better without them but everyone has diff tastes. I wouldnt want that rear splash guard to hide the 275's from poping out
