I have a good stereo tip (non-Bose)
After listening to the stereo for a while, my ears started to become quite fatigued. I realize that the speakers need to break in, but it was still difficult to listen to at moderate volume levels. If anyone else is having a similar problem, I'd recommend fading the sound to the rear two notches. Go into the stereo modes...you should have to click three times to cycle through bass, treble, and then the fader comes up. Push the little arrows above to cycle until it says RR2. This will put more sound behind you and smooth out the fronts, which seem to be set up at the factory to blast you in the ears. After trying a number of different genre's of music, I found the RR2 position to be the most natural and easiest on the ears overall. RR3 took too much out of the front, and RR1 left a little too much bite. You can pump the volume up a little more at RR2, still get decent sound, and not get as much fatigue. Give it a try.
I agree, I did the same thing and it was much better, I am pretty satisfied with the base system, I might get the CD changer that Nissan is showing to install in the NAV box behind the seat, I just wonder if it will be controllable through the head unit.
Yah, the stereo is nothing great. I'm into home audio more than car audio...but the stocker is adequate. It sounds a heck of a lot better than my Integra! Maybe some day I'll upgrade...after I finish with any performance parts!
Check it out phoenix...i think if you adjust it like this, it's a lot less harsh on your ears.
