I thought "GTO" myself. Some of the youngsters here probably would not make that connection.
If you think hitting a goat or deer is bad, go to a forum for bicycles and search for threads where squirrels have tried to run through a spinning bicycle wheel! Not pretty.

kinda changing from hitting a animal to being hit... one of my friends was riding a bike from KY to Cali. and made it to arizona before he got hit by a bus full of austrian tourists... after 6 surgeries and a bout with mersa hes doing good and still has both arms and legs haha... imagine how the rest of that vacation went for the austrians

I've been contemplating a cross-country bike ride before I get too old. But I have heard several reports of people getting clipped by cars along the way giving me pause. For one large group of cyclists, an elderly couple in their RV passed by and took out about 6 riders with the rear-view mirror sending them all to the hospital. Still there are at least three routes for people to take who want to ride a bicycle across the United States (takes about 3 months).
