Default Question regarding tire replacement.

I currently live in Orlando Florida and I am starting to notice feathering on my front two tires. The question I have is can anyone recommend a dealer in the Orlando area that has replaced your feathered tires hassle free, or somewhere close by? Thanks for the help

The first thing I would do is call 1-800-NISSAN1, report the problem and get a "case number". Your dealer should be aware of the TSB. The first thing he must do is perform the TSB (i.e., rotate the tire and allignment). They will rotate by dismounting tires from rims. If you have a good Dealer, with understanding Service Department, they can make the "replacement" happen. I reported mine at 11,000 miles and they were finally replaced at 19,000.

Thanks for the advice...In response to the tire feathering, it is basically an uneven wearing of the tires. The tread blocks become raised in the front and lower in the rear. When you rub your hand over the tire it is jagged in one direction but smooth in the other. I just noticed mine and it has 6000 miles on it.

Is there a real fix for this or does the dealer just keep rotating/aligning/replacing your tires until your warranty expires?

Remember to tell your service manager that you are experiencing "excessive noise" from your front tires as you slow down. There is no TSB on "feathering."

unfortunately it seems there is no fix, and they wont replace your tires after 12000 miles.

They (NNA) haven't acknowledged it as a wear problem or a safety problem. As a result, replacement of tires comes as a request for "goodwill" and the default response without a fight is "goodwill not recommended"
