are our cars going to be worth anything in 20 years?
what do you think?
I know that no one can predict what will be in demand in 20 years, but I plan on keeping mine and letting my grandkids take it to prom.
Does anybody think that our cars will have any monetary value whatsoever by then? Maybe a collectors item? or will it be, just another car?
Ive often pondered this....

^ nissan made too many of them.......the Z is in essesnce a "mass" production car.......
what would be worth money would be a low mileage stock Z.......as the market of used Z's will be saturated with ex honda civic owners that have taken their bad taste over to the Z world......
none of this matters to me, as mine is a track car and there is no possibility of selling it that i forsee...
at the very least, if i ever switch platforms, i would give it to a nephew/or my son if i have kids......

have you checked blue book to see how bad it is already? haha.. my cars an 05 w 88k on it..prob worth 11k and I paid off 40 k on it 2 years ago...... its a brand bew car tho.. everything is modded and upgraded. So thats why its a fun car to drive, makes sense NOT to trade in if its paid off ( so your wife will never make you trade it in on the minivan of the future) and since its fairly worthless in terms of collectability, feel free to cut it up.
Hence my widebody direction. Might as well.

How much did the 1990 300ZX TT or NA cost? What are they worth today? Clean ones are worth about 1/4 of new, but given that there are 10x more 350Zs out there, I'd expect them to be worth less than that, and will approach an asymptote of about $5k. Clean, un-abused, unmodified ones may command a few more $k. Special editions will depreciate the worst, as is historical for special edition cars.
Clean, unmodified 300ZX TTs, yes, but those also cost >$40k 10 years ago! Compare the value of the clean 300ZX NA, which would be in the ballpark of your $5k estimate for the 350.
It's hard to predict.
Who knows, maybe a totally stock 350z will be impossible to come across in 20 years, maybe Nissan will go under and never build another Z car than the 350/370.
Truth is, if all of those ford galaxy people knew how much their mint condition stock car would be worth in 2010.....people would have been more careful with them. After all, many of the old card that are collectors items were mass production cars as well.
But more likely what everyone has said is true.
But again, who cares right! We will still have pride of ownership and a nice looking sports car that is filled with memories, that the rest of the family will be able to enjoy.
Buy that!

The simple fact is you can never predict the value of a car in the future. I ovned an SS396 Chevelle in 1969. I paid $3000 for it brand new and would never have guessed it would be worth so much money today. If I only had it now............
