Is the Z worth it?
I have been considering buying a touring Z for a while now. I really like the car but I'm getting discouraged by the problems that plauge the car such as tire feathering and that fact that the car likes to drift to the right. I dont want to spend that much money on a car that's just going to be a headache for me in the long run. Let me know if you guys feel it is still worth getting regardless of the known problems.

I had the car drifting to the right problem, took it in per the TSB and had it fixed. 5500 miles and thats the only problem to come up. Your statement is a very general and personal one. Is it worth it to you to get into this vehicle?? There are many things to consider. But in general my answer is HELL YEAH!!!!. Im happy with my purchase. Will you be??? I couldnt tell ya if you would. These were my choices when it came to the Z: 2003 Mustang GT, 2003 G35 Coupe, Used 2001 C5 Corvette Coupe, 2002 330CI Coupe, 2001 Porsche Boxster, 1999 Porsche 911. In general they were all sports cars, except for the Stang Im still trying to figure it out. None the less I made my choice based on wanting a BRAND NEW CAR not a used one. Good Luck to ya on your decision, I know it can be agonizing.

Ive had the car for 7 months and 14k miles. The only thing that bothered me was the tire feathering problem and some rattles. There are new tire aligment specs and i had that problem fixed.
Consider this, there are few other vehicles with 6 NA cylinders that can perform like the 350Z. The ones that can cost almost twice as much; Boxter S, 911 Carrera, M3, NSX.

If you're looking for a sports car, the Z is a good buy (as long as you didn't get a dud like mine) But generally speaking, people who are looking to buy a car in the z's price range don't consider the fact that the Z has too many compromises for daily driving. For the NYC daily grind, it really did drive me nuts. If you plan on making the Z a weekend car, go for it you'll be very happy! Also consider the S2000. I did not fully appreciate this vehicle until i drove it. Slickest gearbox in the business!
