The 280ZX was my very first car, and I still have it today, 10 and a half years later. It's been a great daily driver and tons of fun. Although, now that I just got my 350Z (9 days ago) I have to sell the 280ZX.

for me,
drove my dads 528i 1999 untill i got 2 tickets
then when i was 17 i got a 2001 honda civic ex by 20 i had it turboed with my own money.
now im 21 and the civics back to stock but im going to get a z after winter

Mom and step-dad bought the 1st car for $1200 and I paid the insurance. I bought every other car and always had to pay my own insurance, repairs, gas (even in high school), etc. I do appreciate what I have. 29.5 years old now.

I didnt read through this entire thread, but basically the only people that complain or have something to say about the 17yr olds getting a z or something equal are the people that didnt have that advatange when they were that age. The "average" 17 yr old cant afford a 30k car on his or her own unless they are spolied or have worked very hard for it. The same way as a 40yr old cant afford or lambo or something similar unless they hit the lottery or worked very hard for it. Point is, these threads are stupid, the older generations can complain all they want about how a 17-20 yr old should have a z but when it comes down to it, its just a car. If they or their parents can afford it, then so what, who cares.
