2002 (18 legal driving age in Australia): 1997 Mitsubishi Magna/Diamante POS

2004 (20) : 2004 Toyota Echo Company Car

2005 (21): 1990 Toyota MR2 GT turbo

2007 (23): 2005 350ZR

All financed by myself, insured by myself and maintained by myself. I moved out when I was 19 and have been paying all of my bills for years.

I think a lot of people bash on 17+ year olds for getting a car like the 350Z at such a young age because they just wish they had been fortunate enough to do the same. Especially people that say things like "I've paid my dues" blah blah blah that annoy me. Although at the opposite end of the scale there are a lot of smart *** young punks on here rocking the boat

As far as I'm concerned until you know somebody don't assume you know their driving talent, financial status or whether or not mummy and daddy have paid for it all.

I say for anyone my age or younger that has bought a Z for themselves, congratulations you must have worked hard. Drive safe and don't be stupid. If your Mum and Dad bought it for you then you're a lucky bastard and make sure you put them up in a nice retirement home when the time comes and Drive safe, don't be stupid. If you are Middle aged and you own a Z first of all good choice, you have great taste, but don't rag on young guys unless they're being a wiseass. Show your maturity and set an example for us all. Drive safe and don't be stupid.

A bad driver can be 17 or 70, it's all about attitude and maturity.

^^Well put Adrian. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are.

2005 Scion TC
2003 Nissan 350z Track at age 18.

I Have been working since I was 15 years old and had money saved up when I put my down payment on my Z In April of this year when I was 18(turned 19 in may). About $10,500.00 Cash.

On top of that I have been paying for my insurance, Gas, any car expense comes out of my pocket. All expenses for a matter a fact come out of my pocket unlike those who's parents give out cash like an ATM.

I earned my car through working 2 jobs and going to school. Age has nothing to do with who should have the Z and who shouldn't. Its about who you are and how you were able to get it.

If your parents bought it for you then your lucky you never had to work and know the satisfaction you get from buying your first car. Let me know how the rest of your life goes. . . maybe mom and dad will buy you a house too.. just my .02.

Im sick, no im ANNOYED from all the posts that tell me how bad of a driver I am because im young even though ive had my Z for a year now and ive gotton zero tickets and thats becuase I dont give any cop an excuse to pull me over. It's also annoying when poeple tell me I dont deserve my car.......WHAT???......how can someone tell me i dont deserve a really decent car that I paid half for and am still paying my parents for (the car is under their name cuz im 16 and so is insurance so it doesnt cost so much, as soon as i turn 18 i can get the car in my name) Although its too bad i cant speak for all the young z drivers cuz well........ most of em are pretty stupid with their cars

(18 years old) 2000 dodge stratus

(21 years old) 2003 PPW 350z

paid for every single dime of both cars (down payment, car payment, insurance).

now 22 years old.

you don't have to be old to earn, own, and deserve a nice car, but the fact that it pisses you older gentleman off just makes it all that much more enjoyable.

Wink Ha!

And didn't the 17 year old guy that unlocked the Iphone get a new 350Z and a job offer for his hard work.
Some of you "old guy's" might want to look at what you were doing at 17. Maybe not as smart as you thought you were. If you can get a nice car when you are young, get it, and drive safe. And before flaming me, I'm 61 and paid for at least 30 cars so far.

My first car was real wheel drive so I learned how to handle it from day one. All my cars have always been manuals, no auto's here.

im 17 will be 18 in march.. my parents bought me my z for my 16th birthday.. i'll admit i was pretty spoiled at the time..but they did buy me the just cause of that...they bought me the car because i deserved to have a nice car..i stayed out of trouble, good good grades, helpd my paretns and family if they needed something, didng hang out with the wrong croud..etc.. my daad didnt let me drive it alone for abot 4 months untill he was sure i knew the car how it handled and everything else so i know what im doing when im driving.. then later on i got sick of my parents for paying for my stuff and i decided to get a job so i can at least help them pay for payments a little bit... then i got another job and then i stoped asking then for money and i payd for insurance( under my dads name so it is cheaper)...it doesnt matter how old someone is when they get a nice car like a 350z,, the parents should get ther kid what they want if they can afford it and especially if the kid deservs it... but that all depends what kind of parents they are

I'm 23. I've pd. for all of them....worked nonstop since I was 15. Younger guys, just realize that stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason....they are very often true. Not always mind you, but often enough for people to put the 2 things together.

Ya, but what if back in 1985 your Dad said "Hey you got good grades, how about we buy you a 1985 Corvette".. Your telling me you would pass?

I'm not saying its a smart move for parents to do it, but you can't blame the kids for accepting a sports car...
