Didn't get a car when I was 16 (the injustice of being the first born w/ protective parents, while my younger brother had a car waiting for him on his 16th birthday!). My car came sometime during my senior year at high school (so not really too much later, but still, an eternity for a teenager at the time).

i'm 20 and i'm going to be buying a touring 350z... but my parents had one so i use to drive that... but then again i'm in the military and i am buying it with my money from iraq so i'm a little bit more responsible than most..

 

learned to drive on a big Pontiac wagon. First real car was a nissan stanza 5 speed at the age of 16, then I got a job and bought Sentra Spec V at 18, paying for my own insurance and car note, down sized to a 1990 honda accord that I also paid for, then reup to a Sentra Spec V at 20 also, paid for by me, grew out of the Spec by 21 and now I have a Z and I will be 22 Oct 3rd. Still paying for it all myself. I think I deserve it.

At 19 or 20 I had...

1986 Corolla GT-S 16V <--bought it for $50 and a latte in running condition...JDM Tureno front and rear bumpers, HKS cams, decked head, etc.

1991 Nissan 240SX fastback <--- Traded the corolla straight across for it. Sold it for 2k after putting a new motor and rims on it.

1994 Miata (a 1.8) <--- Bought it with the S13 money off a friend. Changed the timing belt, did some body work...ended up selling it back to him so I could save up for a new problem-free car...

Currently rocking mom and dad's minivan...hey, at least it's RWD.

Now 23 and aiming to land myself in a 350Z or S2000 in the next few months. Waiting for some related finances to sort out first...
