so i had a job for 2 months, im a VA kid. my father has been in a wheel chair since i was 2 years old (that was in 1992). I was his first born son, and he has givin' me alot since he retired in 93'. i started off with a 80cc suzuki trial/dirt bike when i was 10. then my dad sold that and bought me a 90cc race 4-wheeler. we sold that and i moved away to st.louis with my mother. we couldnt afford it, so we moved back with my dad. he then bought me a 50cc moped. well i wasnt on that for too long becuase the law allows 14 year olds to drive a 250cc engine in arkansas. well i got a 250 yamaha virago 04' when i was 14. had that for a year and traded that for a 250 kawasaki ex250 04' at 15. then my dad bought me a solar yellow dodge caliber r/t 07' while i was 15. i had to sit a look at it untill my b-day 4 months after he bought it. i had the ex250 untill i was 17 almost 18 and bought a black/black gsxr 600 07'. then my mom moved out, and we got a little bit more cash in our pockets. i saved my social security checks every month for about 8 months, and got part of the downpayment for the Z. and we went down, got a va discount, rebate, and my dad talked the salesman down so bad he had to get his boss to deal with us. we got the z, with the trade in of the dodge caliber, for 19,600. oh and btw its a magnetic black 350z base 08'.
vehicle list:
*80cc dirtbike - 2001 - very fun and very tourqey
*50cc moped - 2003 - was yellow. and slow.
*250 virago 03'- 2004 - first real street machine
*250 ex250 04'- 2005 - got it cuase my friends had it, and i couldnt keep on on the cruiser
*Dodge caliber 07'- 2006 - how am i going to reject a brand new car for a first car?
*gsxr 600 07' - 2008 - bought brand new off showroom floor, sat there for a whole year. got a great deal
*350z 08' - 2009 - was real lucky to find this beauty, she was in tennesee and had her transported to me in my old hom arkansas
thought id show my vehicle list. im 19. and still on va for school. i take care of my dad, and no one but me in the familly still talks to him. so i dont want to hear any complaining. he is 100% disabled veitnam veteran. so yea, hope anyone out there looking for a z finds a way to get it. good luck. later =)

Dork
So "Spork", your kind of an a**hole aren't you. Do you ever contribute any posts worth a s**t?
P.S.- I'm almost 40 yrs. old (not a kid) and never had anything given to me, so make sure you don't assume so or I'll come up to Minnesota and drag you behind my '06 touring for a while!

Feel free to track me down and drag me behind your Z. I'll let you know where my first assignment is in a few months. Until then, I'll be down in San Antonio. Feel free to write to me.
Technically, everyone has had stuff given to them, unless you were born and immediately began living on your own, paying your own expenses, and buying your own clothes.

About what I expected!
Ah, so your a military man then? If so, I have great respect for you, but I am surprised you showed no respect for someone caring for a parent who served in one of our country's most historical wars! Interesting. P.S.- I assume you do have one or two meaningful posts somewhere, considering you have over 23,000 posts in just over 2 yrs., but as for me (and no doubt that kid with the disabled father), I have alot of other things to do with my time than to look through and find one.

I would respect the kid if his father's happiness came before his own and he was able to purchase and insure it completely on his own.
I just sold my Z to my father for the same amount I bought my first vehicle (1988 Plymouth Voyager) for from him... $500. I told him to trade it in and treat himself to a new car, I'll worry about my financial loss. It's the least I could do to repay him for everything he's taught me and done for me when I was younger. I'll buy a new car when I feel like it.

my dad wasnt a part of the (MGIB-AD) he was chapter 35 as he says. he also told me that we wont get the benifits from, The Post 9/11 GI Bill, we will get the benifits from chapter 35 becuase he is a 100% service connected 100% disabled vet, from veitnam. the post 9/11 gi bill is an added benifits for the montgomery gi bill, and only if you were a part of the motgomory gi bill will you be eligable for the post 9/11 gi bill, and in service after 9/11...etc.
thats to sum up any missunderstandings.

I noticed alot of you were buying '03 Zs which is the year I own btw (purchased with my left arm metaphorically) but why the '03s. Is it not true the 03s are notorious for feathering with the stock suspension and oil consumption problems? Yes suspension is interchangeable with true coil overs but then you have to worry about your mount breaking due to the original design not intending to have the full load of the car on the damper mounts
