Here's my story:
2005 FX35 owned by my grandfather given to me when I turned 17. I just turned 19 at the end of last month. My parents pay for gas to drive to school and back (6 hour round trip), the insurance on the vehicle, my school tuition, and one of my credit cards. However, this is basically only because I am going to a pretty good school, etc. If i was just sticking to community I would be paying for everything and probably wouldn't even have a car yet and would still be saving up for one.....but since I tries to do well and got into a good school, my parents were nice enough to provide me with some of their income. However, I pay for every penny that goes into modifications on my FX, along with every oil change or anything I cannot get the dealership to do under warranty. Since I go to school, I only have time for a "real" job during the summer, where I work at a pool company and do construction along with the typical pool boy duties, where I need to drive my own car to each pool. I then split my summer earnings between saving and spending.
I know there is a lot of hate on here for teens who get things given to them but I'll be the first to admit that I recognize I am lucky and spoiled and I actually appreciate everything. I do not ask for anything from my parents because they already provide me everything I need, like I listed above. My birthday just passed and I told my parents to get me nothing; they already do enough for me: they took me out to dinner and got me a card. The holidays are coming up, what am I asking for? Nothing: My parents do enough. Of course, if they insist on getting me something or giving me money I'm not going to argue, but who would refuse a freebie? I'm also saving up because I am doing an abroad program in London next year with my business school.
Like I said, I pay for every single modification, and only work full time during the summer. I tried applying for a job locally but didn't have much luck. I am going to try to get one over winter break and for during next semester to start my payroll early so I don't need to only depend on my summer job...
But yeah, that's basically my story.
I do have that "one friend" who is spoiled rotten: he got an 08g37s brand new and mods/rices it up, all at the expense of his father...
comments and life story questions are welcome, of course. :-P

the SR i actually had really bad luck with. the first time it blew the piston rings on Cylinder 3 scored the wall nicely and i was down to 30psi compression.
had an OEM rebuild with oversize pistons, all else OEM. second time it blew the Oil pump died in the middle of traffic causing me to spin a bearing. it was bad luck or faulty assembly, but either way. I dislike SR20's lol I had a blast with the RB20 that one never let me down, I spun it to 9K and it took it like a *****.
reason my Z32's engine blew was because it had 165K and it was tired, it's not a technical "engine blew" because it had about 120psi across the board. i just wasn't having it. so i got another VQ30 and built it o OEM specs and that one ran way harder at 170ish psi across the board.
my Z33 i will keep N/A for a while, I do plan o make a Twin Turbo Kit for it though.

I had pretty good luck with my SR. 386hp GT3076r top mount. Thats funny because a buddy of mine had horrible luck with his RB20. This kid that lives close to me just blew up his VG30. Dumb kid got a boost controller and turned it up to 22psi on stock block. I begged him not to but some kids are stubborn.
