This pertains to the "17 year olds getting Z's" debate...
Its not hard to come up with scenario's that will only come up rarely. You bring up deer. Since I have been driving (14 years) I have came across deer crossing the road maybe 10 times. Once I was in my Toyota Corolla and the braking was sufficient to not hit it. In areas where deer are seen frequently, you are an idiot if you are flying down country roads. I admitted that there are situations where you are correct, but if you look at the numbers on how many kids have totalled their sports cars being idiots versus the cases where superior handling has saved them I'm sure my point will be proven.
There are kids that grew up cart racing and what not that know how to handle a car better than most adults. I wonder what that percentage is.
I've never seen a country road where the speed limit is 60 so thanks for proving my point in this case the driver is showing out. If you were in a Camry would you be testing its limits on a winding country road. I wouldn't bother. In my Z, much more likely.

So these parents giving their kids sports cars that are IMPOSSIBLE not to show off, are idiots. Peer pressure is insane, are you kidding me? If you're 17 driving a Z, they think they're the coolest sh*t on the block, they could care less about safety, speed limits, or anyone's life.
And about the speed limits- here in Washington, right outside of Spokane. These are perfectly good country roads in middle of farms, they are up and down roads that at night are INSANELY sh*&tty visability because ur lights can't go above hills lol. Speed limit is infact 50MPH... Oh and you can't go a mile without seeing some deer trying to commit suicide.

I dont understand the big argument here. Theres nothing you guys can do to control this and many younginns are getting much faster cars nowadays. My little sister just told me some kid got a camaro ss as his graduation gift. High school graduation gift. All you can do is just hope and pray that these kids are learning well and being responsible.

I dont understand the big argument here. Theres nothing you guys can do to control this and many younginns are getting much faster cars nowadays. My little sister just told me some kid got a camaro ss as his graduation gift. High school graduation gift. All you can do is just hope and pray that these kids are learning well and being responsible.
I don't have thae numbers but are willing to bet that car accidents from teens being negligent are responsible for a gr8 deal more deaths than accident involving a firearm.

I had 2 accidents as a teen, and have yet to ever shoot anyone
The problem is, most teens are smart enough to know that guns are dangerous weapons that can kill people. Most don't _actually_ understand that cars are as well, and take driving on roads for granted. I know I did when I was that age.

How is that fail? Tons of these teens, and their parents look at VDC, traction control and think its their safe ticket out of any situation. ABS doesn't stand for "idiot driving failsafe protection system", or anything else in that matter. No matter how "safer" your car is, 99% of the statistics doesn't come from safety features failing or wheels falling off, they come from drivers making stupid, dangerous, very very wrong foolish decisions. (driving drunk is also a decision). Don't come saying "well what about people that were just driving and GOT hit", well there has to be the other driver that did something stupid to hit them.
So giving an irresponsible kid a gun, with which he can kill someone, is like giving a teenager a sports car. To each, its just a toy, and with each, they can take someone's life in a blink of an eye.
