This pertains to the "17 year olds getting Z's" debate...
Way to go, this thread was almost 3 years old and it was peacefully dead... But thanks for resurrecting it with your urgent comment!
Haha...I'm just playing with you. But seriously, this topic is a dead horse.

1986 NISSAN 200SX COUPE------JDM COUPE IN H.S.
1995 SATURN SL 2-----SENIOR YEAR H.S. 200 SX didn't make it.
2000 BMW E46 323CI----Got a pretty good job& chicks like BMW in college
2005 350 ETHUZ----New Career
1983 Yamaha Exciter 185
Stolen and hidden under sphinx at what used to be a putt-putt course. Crane operator was pissed when I showed up and took it out myself before he had a chance to hook his crane to it. Gave to sister.
1984 Kawasaki 440LTD
Totalled by drunk driver. Last time I ever let a friend borrow a motorcycle of mine.
1976 Volkswagen Rabbit
Had chunk of aluminum foil in engine block... nice. People I bought it from conveniently were no longer in their apt. Left it in front of those people's apt. With a nice message spray painted on it.
1988 Yamaha Razz scooter
Don't laugh, I needed something to get me to work while I was waiting to enter the Navy, stolen by ex-girlfriend and totaled. Stupid redneck.
1989 Suzuki GS500E - Great bike. Got stopped by the Mexican police first time I drove it there because, "We don't want it to get stolen from you.<cough><cough>" 2 hours and $100 later they let me go. Sold.
1992 Suzuki GSX 600 Katana
Great bike. Fast as hell but motorcycles don't work so good in Colorado winters. Sold.
1968 Volkswagon Beetle
Better than the motorcycle and I thought it was cool but... Sold.
1978 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
Ahhh now that's much better in the snow. But the gas was killing me. Always-on 4 wheel drive and 8,000 tonnes of car can really suck the gas.
1992 Ford Escort
Broke down on the interstate. I only paid a few bucks for the car, didn't like it enough to fix it. It's probablly still sitting broken in a parking lot in Boulder probably.
1989 Honda Prelude
Best car I'd owned to that point. I put over 100,000 miles on it and never had a single problem (it had 89,000 miles on it when I bought it). I literally drove this car across America, from Tampa, FL to Washington State and back again. Sold it for $100 less than I paid for it and it was still running like a champ.
1997 VW Golf GTi VR6
Great at first then the curse of the Mexican VW's started hitting. EVERYTHING broke on this piece of S. Things just started falling off of it! Sold at auction for $1800. (repair cost? $2800 including $1000 for busted A/C)
2004 Honda Civic LX Sedan - Bought for ex-girlfriend. Good commuter, bad girlfriend.
2005 Nissan 350Z - Ahhhh finally...

I couldn't resist....
Started out borrowing the parent's Minivan!
1989 used Mazda 626 (4k)
1999 Honda Accord sedan (19k)
1999 Civic Si coupe (traded in Accord for it - then it was stolen)
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan (24k - sold for the Z)
2003 used Nissan 350Z Touring (24k)
My only comment on this subject is that you truly appreciate and care for what you have if it was your blood sweat and tears that paid for it.

I'll give another hooray for college:
1993 Nissan Maxima GXE: I've done everything that is humanly possible to this car. It used to be a showcar, but now its my daily driver. It still runs. It just eats up axles and windows regulators (let's see, i've replaced five of them). 135,000 miles and counting (I got it at 27,000 miles)
2003 Nissan 350Z Track: Bought it on Ebay for $26395 with 282 miles on it. Had it shipped to me and have loved it ever since. Its the weekend and nice weather car...

92 mitsubishi galant (still drive it when I don't want to take the g)
2005 G35 6mt
By the way, I'm 20 years old and the G was paid for by myself (my mom helped me finance 12,000 but I make the car payments). The mitsu was given to me by my parents 3 years ago and I still drive it.

It all started at 16
'95 200SX SE-R (brand new, heavily modded for the time, import scene was just starting barely any aftermarket support). All paid for by me by working in a full service gas station in Toronto. Totalled while street racing. I was a punk then.
'97 Pathfinder (given to grandfather after I moved to Houston)
'89 240SX (great car during college, finally died)
'02 Acura CL Type S brand new car after graduating from college. What a mistake, went through 3 trannies in the 3 yrs I owned it.
