I have a 2006 and got a new motor from Nissan.

if the mileage is low enough to qualify for the powertrain warranty you too can get a new motor if it fails the oil consumption test...

not all 06's burned oil...

worst case, just add oil every 3k miles...

a majority of the guys here have had no issues. if you got a great deal in front of you then take a chance and get it.

I dont think it's under warranty being a 06?

Do any of you guys ever feel clastrophobic? in the Z?
My gf brought that up last night that I might feel like that say if I was driving the car for a extended lenth of time like on a road trip.

Why would you say that? Do you know the warranty details from Nissan? It depends on when the car was first registered and the mileage.

http://www.nissanusa.com/owning/faqs/warranty.html

And no, never claustrophobic in the Z, even after driving it 2400 miles in 2 days. It's a damn sports car, not an SUV, but there is a surprising amount of room in the back and the compartments when you pack smartly. I fit a weekend bag, tools, food for 3 days, four wheels and tires, car jack, mini air compressor, and 2 helmets for the track trips I make.

Your first post made no sense as did your second. The oil consumption is caused by piston ring blow by G. So you obviously dont know a damn thing about the 06' oil consumption problem. Props to doing your own maintenance.
So your Brooklyn's finest huh? Lol I flew to NY in 07' to see Wu-Tang do a set, w/ EPMD, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, RedMan, Rakim, Rage Against The Machine... Rock Da Bells 07'...
Lol you comin to visit me? Dont threaten me on the internet, it's not necessary.

I have a 06 with no oc issues but I would ask for a service history before I purchased a used one.If one cant be produced I wouldnt take the chance. It seems like more people have 06s that dont have that problem than do if you want to roll the dice...

Why not just get an '07 with the HR?

Shouldn't cost too much more and you get a nice little bump in power out of the box.

any used car is risky, bud... sorry... it's that simple. if you plan to get it, not touch (as in not work on it) and just want it as a daily driver - don't get it... buy a cheap NEW car...

after having put together a 180sx, this Z, and dealing with a 2006 Diesel Jeep Liberty, i've learned it's mechanical issues, body issues, electrical issues (F!! - those suck), or whatever.. It's a car, there's always something to do but that's the fun of it.

BUT - I will say.. this Z has probably been the smoothest project yet. The only issues I've had are dumb things like the window regulator motor going haywire and doing whatever the it wants...

Hahaha - that probably doesn't help at all.. But long story short - get it. They're extremely fun to drive and a great power plant to start with if you decide to work on it..

besides - if you get it and all else fails, if you know the right people - motors are cheap to get

maybe if you're 6.5ft tall and 300lbs... this thing feel giant compared to my old 180sx and Miata (yes miata.. haha drove it while building the s13)... "giant" maybe a bad term.... maybe more "luxurious"? ...dunnow. it rules. that's all.

Enjoyed that show also. Randall's Island is a great place for concerts. Did you go to the Sat. or Sun. show?
