Something inexpensive and a lot more practical for the time being. Once we buy a house and a Z can rest safely in the garage (without being my only mode of transportation) then it will be time to return to the fold (and I will return!!!!). Until then, I'm more than likely gonna pick up a new 2003.5 Mazda Protegé5 wagon ($9,000 out the door with 6G's down). Gonna drop it and put some wheels on, and that's about it. I need to free up some cash for the house. I'm gonna miss the hell out of the Z, but now's not the most opportune time for me to have it, unfortunately.

Very respectable decision Stone, similar to one I had to make myself last year. I had a short list of 3 things to buy and unfortunately the Z was no 3 on that list (the house and the rock being the other two). I finally picked up my Z last month. I guess it turned out for the best considering some of the problems the early 03s have had.
Good luck!

After a long talk with my wife we got some things (finances) sorted out and what not, and it looks like I'm going to be keeping the Z after all!!!!!!
So, I'm gonna be picking up a practical commuter car ($2500 or less) and just use the Z once in a while.....I think I'll enjoy it more this way anyhow! We have an 8 year old daughter and she can't really ride anywhere in the Z because of the passenger side air bag, so this will help us all out. Unfortunately there won't be any mods anytime soon, but that's OK....just *having* the Z is enough in itself.
This didn't come without some type of sacrifice though....I'm gonna have to sell my drums to free up some money to get the commuter car. I'm only a casual player so it's not like I have to have them to gig. I'll definitely be able to get another set somewhere down the road.
Thanks everyone!

Sorry, Jon, but I feel for ya. I just got rid of mine for very similar reasons (along with being fed up with Nissan and the tire BS and bad dealer service all over this town).
I, too, will probably buy another one at some point. I just need a wife to share my bills with. lol (I just bought a condo)
Best of luck to ya...
