awesome car. very sexy. nice curves. plenty of fun. however, i wish I would have built a 240z instead of pay for a brand new car. lesson learned. and the car is still great. I say if you want one, buy a used one, rebuild it.

It will be used for sure, probably an 07 unless a great deal comes up on an 06. I need a modern, fun and dependable car.

Been there, done that with the exotics (referencing the NSX comment) and want a convert.

I feel "meh" over mine.

Paint sucks - chips, swrils
Reliability - worse car so far, window regulator, powersteering pump/rack, rear hub/bearing, airbag light/control module, every fastener on the underside has rusted to dust.
Performance - Meh, not cheap or easy to make fast. Its weight is always apparent.
Interior materials also suck, hardly fitting for a 40k car (Touring).
Resale is in the tank. Two examples where on Zilvia.net for ~8k.

Pros? Styling. Cars are badass looking, eligant, sophisticate and when done right don't look all "boy racer". Most people think it's more expensive they it is.

Sexy car. I love mines. I don't regret buying it not never. 35th Ann 2005 Black. Like others have said. I regret Not buying it sooner. Minor problems Like Fans went and tire feathering. But Very Inexpensive fixes. Seeing that you may get an 07 you probably won't have such a bad tire feathering problem Like the very early models.

I did notice on the few Z's I have looked at, both in person and online, the front paint seems to chip very easily and the interior parts look very worn even in low mile cars. I was expecting the paint to be in better shape and would have never expected the interior parts to look so worn and beat.

The only regret I have is that I wish I would have done more research. Would have bought an HR if I knew what I know now

I bought my 08 350z in Scranton P.A. Dec of 09 for $22.5k. Owned by a 65 yr.old man who traded it to a Chrysler dealer for Top of line Muscle Dodge(whatever that is. It had 2k on it, never driven faster than 45mph. was black & a 6sp. manuel, enth. It was like a gift from the Gods.

Once this snow and salt gets off the roads I would like to get to a dealer and drive a ZR. I'm still between an older Porsche Boxster S, probably 01/02 maybe 03 for $18-20K, an 05 Boxster S for about $28-30K for an 06 maybe 07 350ZR for around $20K.

If I drive the Z and like the car is should be a simple decision as $20K or so gets me a newer car compared to the Boxster S.

Despite the IMS and RMS issue I never had any issues with my cars and used them a lot. I love the feel, power and sound. Not looking for a rocketship as I drive like an old man. What I can't ignore is the price of an 06/07 350ZR with low miles. From searching the web and forum it seems like the complaints are pretty minimal.

I will try to go and test drive a Z within the next few weeks but am looking for feedback on ownership and the overall experience with owning a 350Z.

Thanks!!

i am not going to even touch that. just having to read some of these new comers posts is a waste. makes me want to regret ever buying my Z. just to know that it will be driven "old man" like is

Don't regret it one day. Love it the more i drive it.

It was unpopular decision for me at the time I bought it as a second car and I caught a lot of flack for it when the money was considered to have gone to more well spent places in other's eye's. People don't understand a car lover's obsession. Despite that, I love it and plan to be a hobbyist for a long while.

+3.14 to one trillion decimals..Daily drive since April, 2003 Car has some issues but it is a go-cart on the highway. I would suggest you get a boxter. I have outrun them in the past...not the S though...
