Whitewall tires went out of style when radial tires became commonplace. When the Michelin X was introduced in the late 1940's, they had a hard time getting the white rubber to adhere to the flexible radial side wall. Therefore, Michelin X tires never came in whitewalls. Tire manufacturers have never been able to get whitewalls to adhere properly to the radial sidewall so you see very few whitewalls today. Whitewalls worked much better when the tires were cross bias. It would probably be much better to just keep black walls.

how about raised wht letter tires i think that would look nice. i had those tires during 70's on my 72 olds cutlass it was a sharp looking car;silver w/clear pearl with black vinyl top and was rolling on craiger solid black deep dish rims w/60's all around. it was the only car that had black rims back than in N.O everybody else had five spoke chrome rims, who knew black rims would become popular as happening now. yeh, raised white letters but not too big, like the ones on truck tires, would look o.k if you have a nice rims to accompany it.

I still think Vex's pinstripe is a better idea than anything else posted here.

you can't knock it till you try it. who, thought aggressive fitment and all these different things would now be the norm, not to many people. It takes thinking outside of the box to push the envelope. Also, i'm not talking about your typical white wall wheel. I wish i could photoshop or get someone to photoshop this.

best way to prove it is to buy the kit from ebay and do it. the worse thing to happen is you may have to buy new tyres. G/L

Default My 350z before the lip and sides

Here are some pics of whitewalls on my roadster before the lip and sides.

This may give you a better insight to make you decision.

Hope this helps

wow...someone actually has white walls on a z. I think it could be pulled off alot better with a smaller wheel setup. Of course with it lowered alot more and a more agressive fitment.

Thinking whitewalls should be left in the past where they belong. Here is a picture of the last car I owned with whitewall tires and that was a long time ago..........................
