Yes. With tires, it's likely to be almost $4000 minus his deductible. This is why we have insurance.
As others have said, not guaranteed, but certainly a deterrent. A good thief will get them off at some point, but if you make it too easy, well, you see what can happen.
Unless aftermarket parts are specifically called out on the insurance policy, they only cover for OEM items in their stock location. When I added special wheels to the policy on my 300, it added about $50/year to the comprehensive coverage. No need to do that for the 350, since OEM wheels with Bridgestone tires are more expensive than my RPF1 wheels with Dunlop tires.
Absolutely true, and great suggestion!
This is also why I have my wheels scribed with my name and phone number on the inside. A) If they get stolen and I find them on CL or other, I can be certain of it and B) A good wheel technician will at least as his boss if the name on the wheel matches the name of the customer asking for tires to be changed. A good boss will at least call the phone number after seeing the discretion. It's a long shot, but at least the cards are in place for it to be successful.

Because those are the only two nice wheels that get put on Zs right?
OP, don't worry, insurance pays out like crazy on wheels. from the dealer stock wheels are worth $1100 each + tires. So expect a pretty hefty cheque and be able to get in to some baller wheels no problem and definitely some wheel locks this time!

Well my Z sleeps in the garage, so I don't worry about my wheels being stolen. And if someone breaks into my garage to steal my wheels, well there would have been nothing I could possibly do to prevent that. So no need to worry. We worry more about curbage and rock chips. Haha. And stock 04's are nasty, hence the aftermarket wheels. If you do go oem, make sure they're 06 and up if you can.

and yes 04 rims are the ugliest out of all of them. there is a reason they are so cheap.
