Nissan Scraped My Car?
Hi All,
I am hoping that I have found the appropriate place to post this thread. Anyway, I took my Nismo 350Z into Nissan, just to get keys made. I was with a friend and they had me wait in the lobby so I wasn't able to see what was happening in their garage area. The second time (I decided that I wanted another made) and I was watching. There is a yellow kind of holder that supposidly keeps the car in place while they are doing repairs and such and being a Nismo, it has the side and front skirts. I saw him pull it in and it got dangerously close to scraping and when I checked the car for scratches afterwards I didn't notice any damage. Anyway, yesterday, (this happened Friday) I was washing my car and noticed a scrape on the side skirt (about 5 inches long) and a nick in the other side skirt that were not there before because I looked at pictures that I had taken of the car just a few days before and it was clean. I do not see how this could've been me because if I scraped, it would've been on the bottom because I have not been leaving my car anywhere where it could get scraped from the side but I obviously cannot prove this. Before wasting a trip down to Nissan does anyone think that it would be worth taking this up with them? Thanks.

It's tough to go back now that a few days have passed. I always give my car a thorough visual inspection while it is on the dealership property. It may be best to pick up the phone and talk directly with the service manager.
All the best - hopefully you can get your issue resolved.

Nissan didn't scrape your car, somebody did.
Once you drove away, you lost any ability to make a claim that it happened at the dealer (or any other public location). They will always claim that it happened to you elsewhere.
